Hi Everyone, I was planning on maybe doing a tune up on my car, and was looking at purchasing a wire set. Normally a set goes for about 200 bucks, anyways, I found a company called Kingborne that makes nock offs for 59 bucks, supposed to be better then the original because they use a Beru connectors. 40,000 volt temps and 500 de f. Now I am no expert, but has anyone used this product in there ferrari.

I checked the web site,, they never had ferrari on there product list, I sent off an e-mail and told them what I need..
Don't go larger than 8 mm or they won't fit in the distributor cap without modifications. A make-on-site universal kit is probably what you will get with most suppliers. It gives you the opportunity to custom cut to length and dress out the wires in a more professional looking and cleaner way than buying a ready made one-size-fits-all kit. I used a universal kit from Taylor called Spiropro, high heat silicone wires with 90 degree boots already installed at the spark plug end. I cut to length and inserted into the cap. Installed some wire bridges in strategic locations and BAM! I've used Magnecor wires in my Jaguars for several years and I've been very happy with them. I ordered a set for the '84 Mondial QV a week ago and just waiting for delivery. Magnecor does have Ferrari in its catalogue. But they don't stock all of the sets premade because of low demand. They make them up custom when you order them. I'll let you know when I get them, how they are, but my experience with their other sets is that they are very high quality, very durable and hold up for a long time even under the heat of the Jaguar V-12 engines. Ignition leads for the 308 are fairly basic. There are no special leads required, although fitting the appropriate ends can help prevent poor running in damp weather. At the distributor cap end, there is no connector, the plug leads feed into the cap where they are secured by a screwed in spike from the underside of the cap. As has been mentioned. 8mm is the correct size of lead to fit in the cap without requiring trimming or leaving a gap. At the spark plug end, things get slightly more interesting. Because the plugs are pretty deep in, extenders are in common use. The factory standard included rubber cups to prevent water ingress, which fitted round the extenders. However these extenders have screw on connections, so you may be better of with a moulded connection and no extender? I have recently changed mine. I started with 8mm leads to screw in extenders with rubber seals at the top, leading to screw top spark plugs. I now have 8mm leads which go directly to moulded ends fitting onto regular top spark plugs. I was able to fit the original rubber seals round the leads even though the extenders are no longer in use. Obviously, going for the highest quality of lead is good, and thankfully you aren't restricted by any custom type ends. Hope this helps.

I agree with the Magnecor fans, Magnecor wires work very well! I've used them on a Mondial and a 348 Spider and never had a problem. Oh, and you can buy 4 sets for the price of the Ferrari replacement wires.
I have a set of Kingsborne wires for another car and they're nice. No complaints after 1 year. I'm thinking to get a set for my 308.
I looked at the kingborne site and I find the plug end connectors interesting. Has anyone used them and which one have they used. I have a 77 and would like to eleminate the stock extenders . Any info here?
