Note on Davidson....yes he is fast, but we really can't say much simply due to the engine variable. Also note how most the 3rd drivers out practiced their teammates.

And qualifying for the grid, with Michael's scorchingly-fast pole position lap at his home Grand Prix. The top 9 drivers are separated by less than 1 second.

Rubens' less than stellar qualifying position leads me to believe that he is on a different strategy.

    Michael Schumacher is on pole.
Rubens starts from 7th place on the grid since Button was moved 10 positions back due to engine switch. Rubens is vey heavy on fuel.

The BAR-Honda team were on Saturday reprimanded by Formula One's governing body, FIA, for running one of their cars illegally, but escaped disqualification from Sunday's German Grand Prix. The team tested a newly developed electro-hydraulic device, which has been proven to improve the performance of the car, on their race cars in Friday practice but removed it before qualifying.

This to me seems kind of ridiculous. This is FORMULA ONE. Let the manufacturers have some leeway to develop the cars with new and innovative technologies. To the average viewer many of the cars are just carbon copies of each other. This has been said before but establish a few base guidelines and let them go at it and experiment with different lengths, ride heights, widths, engine displacements, forced induction, number of cylinders, exotic materials, ETC. - that is how it becomes fun and interesting and innovative.

F1 is getting BOOOOOOOORRRRING. The man is like Lance Armstrong. He only wins and wins and wins.

And this is the home town crowd.

Anyone wants to bet of this one??????

I agree completely that manufacturers should be able to develop the cars in anyway possible to make tings fun and iteresting. But there are two factors to consider:
    1. Rules and regulations must be equal for all. You cannot allow one construtor to do as they please and stop other constructors. So rules have to be enforced for all teams.
    2. Driver safety. If a new interesting and innovative development of the car hinders driver safety then there is no place for it in F1. Surely you must understand driver safety is big factor.

Again I do not know what exactly the reprimand was for and what basis. But rules are supposed to be for all teams and driver safety is an issue.

I agree. I'm a MS fan and - obviously - a Ferrari fan, but I would be happy if Raikkonen wins, followed by Montoya and MS. The Formula One is a bit boring now. Some more real competition outside the boxes would be great. When did you see the last amazing pass manoeuvre by MS? I don't remember...

And that Raikkonen crash really shows you how vital the wing is. As soon as it came off, the car just could not go in a straight line! I was really surprised about how out of control it immediately went.

Michael Schumacher wins the German GP.

One more step towards the constructors and drivers world championship titles.

Kimi is going to kill someone at Mclaren. He was so frustrated when he got out of the car. :D

Did anyone notice the other Ferrari guy on the podium (can't remember his name). He didn't seem to thrilled to take a swig from the champange bottle when Schumacher who apparently has the Flu offered it to him.

A gripping race, with heroics from Button and Alonso!
What an absolute treat: the action was sustained, the margins barely there. What skill, such respect.
This track has been consistently criticised - by me as much as anyone. However, the new Hockenhem is safe as Kimi showed, and there's room for cars to run alongside each other.
Kimi also showed his frustration in a way we rarely see nowadays. I can totally understand, as the failure on McMerc's part was a shocker, and at home to boot!
Congrats to Schumacher on another splendid win. What a race:D

Kudos to Button for a heroic effort from the rear of the pack.

Ruebens has no excuse for his "montoya or sato" like move (as how someone on this board would put it) on the 1st lap.

Mclaren looks to be back in the game.

Looks like the BAR/Honda has the speed, poor finish by Sato.

It's a shame that for the past several races MS hardly got challenged, no one was close enough to push him.
