Did you guys see the photos of the new 575m replacement in the recent issue of Fornza? It looks GREAT! I can't wait to see one in person.

I think it's just the spy shot with the black 612-style camo (?)
Chances are it's not going to look anything like that - they are just using the 612 body panels as a disguise.

But, they are moving the engine back behind the front wheels (like the 612) to have better balance, so you can probably expect a longer hood than the outgoing 575.

It's good to hear that Ferrari is going back to mid-engine for 12 cylinders. I was hoping 550's interior w/ 512TR looks for the next 12 cylinders. 612 can be now for gentlemen's, and I want one for wilder look, so I just hope new 12 cylinders won't look too settled & look like 612 too much.

I liked what Ferrari did to 360 replacement so far (seen in "360 Replacement thread"), so hope Ferrari will do right for the next 12 cylinders. Then I have something looking forward to.

I have the Forza Aug. 2004 issue, and it has a write up about the 612, nothing I can find about the 575 replacement

The car pictured in Forza is not a mid-engined car. It is a front engined car with the engine set further back in the chassis behind the front wheels. The layout is similar to the 612.

    The 612 is a mid-engine car... a front mid-engine.
    The 360 is a mid-engine car... a rear mid-engine.

If the engine is set behind the front axle (and in front of the rear axle), then it is a mid-engine car.
