Just seeing if anyone can help with this problem. I click on Disk Cleanup from the Accessories / System Tools tab to run the disk cleanup. Nothing happens! I let it run overnight to see that it did not come up with the menu of items to delete.

    Did I get 'Delled' here?

    Overnight? Disk Cleanup takes seconds.

Are you sure it was "Disk Cleanup" and not "Disk Defragmenter"?

Defrag will NOT get past 34% on my rig, but its ok w/o it.

Id suggest booting in safe mode, then running disk cleanup.

Here's how to defrag when it won't defrag the regular way, where it fixes errors as it goes:

    (Do the usual preliminaries)
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter

    (Then)
Select Drive > Settings (button) > Disk Defragmenter Settings

    When defragmenting my hard drive:

    Leave checked
X Rearrange program files so my programs start faster

    Uncheck
O Check the drive for errors
    _____

I want to use these options:

    Check
    X This time only

(Will uncheck when above is Checked)
O Everytime I defragment my hard drive

    OK Button

When done with computer for the day - or for a few hours, turn it off.

The next day, do regular defrag. It should defrag and fix all errors.

"Wait" is for computer to compute the fact it's not in the same session/logfile as it would if you simply shut computer off and on after first defrag.
