Difficult shifting

Hello,

What would be the main causes of difficult shifting on a 348? (Hard to get it into gear.)

I have searched and found the following:
1) adjust shifter linkage
2) leaking shaft seal?
3) bad clutch?
4) change gear oil?

What's associated with each of the above? & what's the fix? Any easy ways to tell what to look for without taking anything apart? Are there any other reasons for this issue? (besides the obvious ones - get a new car, 348's were difficult to shift, etc...)
