"Blimey, even the priest is a Ferrari fan"----Eddie Jordan story

IN SPITE of his high-minded logos and some tough times, Jordan has managed to keep his sense of humour. Eddie was a close friend of John Walton, Minardi's team manager, who died a few days before the British Grand Prix at 47. The pair travelled over to Britain from Ireland together to launch their motor racing careers and Jordan was to give the eulogy for his old friend at the funeral on Monday.

Before he started, the local priest was at pains to give details of the location of the wake and, for the legion of Minardi and Ferrari mechanics who came over from Italy to Oxford, mellifluously repeated the instructions in fluent Italian. Which prompted Eddie to start his oration with: "Blimey, even the priest is a Ferrari fan".
