    Guys,

I am getting ready for judging at CI and am wondering, my car came with a 6.5 campy spare and no leather tie down strap or braket to hold it, or any evidence that there ever was any holes indicating where it would be attached. However it is in all the parts book, can all you gt4 guys tell me what kind of spare you have and if you had any tie down strap or bracket. If so would you post a pic. I am thinking because of US regs at the time a full size spare was specified and the tire would not fit down over the metal bracket which was from what I understand was above the tire???

    Hi
Attached are some photos of the strap and bracket as well as some measurements to help you locate it. My car is Euro, so it has the space (but not weight) saver spare.
Strap is 24.75 long, holes are 1 1/16 apart, starting at 2 1/2" from end, 10 holes, 31/32" wide. Seems to be approx 1/16" thick.
(I'll be away from my computer for a few days so this is all I can do until next week.)

WTF? I guess mine does not have one either and I have a regular sized spare. No holes, no straps, no bracket.

No shoes, no shirt, no problem (Kenny Chesney).

    Gerrit,

When you get back could you post a pic of the bracket from farther away. Its seems that yours is vertical but in the parts book it shoes it horizontal with the belt going vertical?

PS thanks for the pics, i still think the US ones did not have this device

    Hi Robert
It is vertical. I think the strap is long enough to also hold the toolkit (that I don't have). The top of the tape measure is at the top of aluminum panel. Above that is the plastic shroud over the heater boxes etc.

I will take more pictures next week.
