anyone have a source for brass wheel hangers? i know that Hill has stainless...
not that. maybe a little over spec for the job. you slotted the bolt? to get to with a screwdriver after?
James - Contact Sodacoms (sponsor). He has them locally in Greensboro -- nice very lighweight alumnimum ones. The hanger saved my arse last weekend because holding those tires while lining up the bolt holes is a major pain. I think the hanger is less than $10. -Daniel
Right, took the longer of the stock bolts, and cut it and slotted for flat blade screwdriver. But the bolt retails for $65.00 US, so the $10 aluminum one is cost effective IMO. Unless you have lots of old bolts around!
And that's EXACTLY why i want them. i did the same thing this last wekend, and i am all done with trying to wrestle the backs back on. the fronts are actualy easier. once you throw them up ther, you can reach through the spokes to turn the rotors to get alignment ). Thanks, Daniel.

Wow, that IS cheap....but order two....makes alignment that much easier and faster. Mine are identical, except made from stainless steel. I got them from Kermit at Durable1: http://www.durable1.com/mag-guides.htm I asked him to thread mine, rather than use the "quick install/release" method he normally uses. He also made a set for my BMW too. He makes a couple different styles (including aluminum), depending on one's preferrence.... Not sure of the point of brass...especially if the ss ones have all smooth surfaces and no exposed threading or knurling. Brass is soft enough that it may bend or get damaged easily. Regards, Dave
You realize that you can just go down to the local Ace Hardware store and buy a bolt the right thread and length and then just cut the head off and debur it in and be done with it in 5 minutes for about $2... (that's what I did)

LOL! My local industrial hardware store has a $10 minimum sale, so I'm always taking them the stuff off my Ferrari to match up, saying "I need $10 worth of these".....and they roll their eyes.... I stumped them with the knurled air box wheel nuts....LOL!
The purpose of using brass is so that when you crash the wheel into the hanger it won't scratch it. Brass being softer.
