in the CS, it's almost a different car:

    -suspension much stiffer
    -exhaust twice as loud
    - shifts twice as fast and less slipping [my complaint with normal mode is the shifting]

but on a freeway with raised reflector dots, the car really pounds over like you have 50 # in your tyres.

i've taken to farting around in normal, especially with passengers, and just using race when i'm pounding it [think they intended that or what?????] - and as someone who finds GT2/3 suspensions lovely for daily driving, the race mode is truly a RACE mode!!! super work by F.

I leave it in race mode all of the time. The car just reacts so much nicer.

As the recent Top Gear (or 5th Gear, I don't recall which one) video commentator says, "race mode puts the car into pyschopath mode"!! :)

I use race mode for "spirited" driving on smooth surfaces... and for any "sound checks", particularly in tunnels. I use normal mode when cruising gently around town or on any rough surfaces. Unlike the 360's sport mode vs. normal mode which makes just-noticable differences, the CS's race mode makes huge differences. And as another said... well done, Ferrari! I find both modes just about right for their particular uses.

That's right you never know when you might want to race!
The Gallardo has a "sport" mode same thing.

Normal mode with passenger with a weak stomach

Race mode by myself and/or a passenger who wants to experience what an F1 car is like.

Most of the time I start out in sport mode. Inevitably end up using race for
    a majority of the time.

Race mode all the time -- the F-1 just isn't up to par in normal mode. :)

I use sport mode most of the time on the street, as I find the standard shifts just fine for most spirited around town driving. Sometimes, when I can't resist the awesome sharpness and sound of race mode, I will use it on the street. However, many roads are too bumpy for race mode, even here in Atlanta. On the track, no question - race mode with ASR off.
