My girlfriend doesn't seem to understand the passion I have for cars. I'm tryin to get her to go to the Ferrari Fall Festival with me. She thinks that $65 is too much for a ticket. I even told her that I would pay for her's and she still doesn't want to go. What can I do to change her mind. Anyone? anyone? It just bums me out.

Just tell her we will go to shoping (or whatever she likes) after a little stop to this event. It might works.

    Two simple solutions.
    1) Endure something she really really likes. Like shoe shopping.
    2) bring her out to one of our club nights. Wining, Dining, Dancing always softens them up.

Or, give her a kiss & tell her you will be back later.

btw: don't listen to me. I'm divorced :p but not over a car :)

Endure shoe shopping. That's a tough one man. The club thing might work. I still got some time to butter her up. Her birthday is at the end of August. Maybe I'll do somethin extra special for her. And then she'll do the show for me.

Well, you can always pull something similar to what happens in the movie Oceans Eleven. Have a friend taping you, and have someone ask you would you rather a garage full of your favorite cars or keep your girlfriend. Of course you'll naturally say the cars if you're a true car guy. Just kidding. Have them show it to her, she'll understand, unfortunately you may lose the girlfriend. Also be cautious in following this, I've never had a serious girlfriend in my life.

Tell her that's what Hubert spends on a glass of scotch after a nice meal! That'll put things in perspective. ;)

    Chris,

I'd think long and hard about this. I don't know how long you've been dating or how serious this relationship is, so I'm working a little blind here.

If you have to convince her every time you want to go to an event with her, is she the right girl or just "right now"? I'd would try explaining to her that you sincerely want her to go with you. If she doesn't have a good time then she doesn't have to go again. But, she should go with a smile this time. If she still doesn't want to go why don't you invite another girl? I bet your girlfriend will want to go then. If this relationship is worth anything she should support what your interest are.

FYI - Married (happy) 6 years......... I've had cognacs that were over $400. If she's likely to jump to 'Huberts side' then strongly consider this relationship. Life is for having fun!

    - Good luck

Just to give you some background, we been together for a year and a half and we are pretty serious. There's been the marriage talk already. It's not that I have to convince her to go to every event. It's just the fact of the $65 dollar ticket. She's been to the NYIAS, La Bella with no problem. She loves the 360 spider. Maybe once she sees the pics from last years event she'll go. She would never go to "Hubert's side" because I lay the pipe good. lol. I'll get her to go.

Work on bringing her into your world. Take her out with Rob for some street racing. You can work the starting line:

"When I pull down my girlfriend's tube-top, that means 'go'"

So, I read your response and think this thread is a non issue. You seem to have eveything under control................... then I read further down and it doesn't look so good. Sorry, man, that sucks. She won't go, so you won't go, not a good thing unless you have something more important to do. I hope you find someone to go with ya and enjoy it. She seems very important to you. If she goes other events but for some reason doesn't want to go to this one, so be it. Go with a friend, go alone, whatever, but you should go if you want, 'cause it's not healthy for a relationship to have someone dictate what you'll do......................... just tryin to help here........ good luck

I'm tryin to find someone to go with me. Even if she doesn't want to go I'd still go with somebody. Just feel kinda awkward goin to the show by myself.
