What is the best color combination to match a red exterior... Crema? Black? Tan? I would imagine Crema would be the most difficult to maintain.

If the exterior was Titanium/Silver? Black?

I would be interested to hear the comments of owners with Crema interior.

It would be for a 355GTB.

My last 328 had Crema leather and it wasn't has bad as I thought it would be. Obviously it'll scuff a little easier than black but it was actually easier to keep clean than I imagined it would be.

    Augustine,
Does your interior have red stitching?

Red stitching with Crema...sounds pretty dandy.

Mine is crema - haven't had it long and it is a bit rough on the seats so I expect to have some work done over the winter. I am careful in all of my cars to try not to kick things, use the door handles instead of the top of the doors, etc, plus I have them cleaned every week to week and a half so they stay pretty clean in general, and I use covers to keep the crud out when the cars are in the garage.

Plus I don't eat/smoke/carry pets etc in the car so that helps as well.

    Cheers

Red stiching on Crema seats looks great in a red car. Mine was Azzurro Metallico so it would have looked nasty IMO.

Just my opinion, but i think tan looks better than black on a red car.

I had to wait longer to get a tan interior, because most red cars had black interior and I am not very keen on black. I don't think it does anything for an interior, the details of the stitching and the panel shapes etc show up much better on a tan interior. I think it goes very well with the red. The cream is a little too over the top for me and would need to be cleaned more often. I am really glad I found the tan interior I wanted.

The crema leather gives a more "luxury" look, not that it's a bad thing, but
more appropriate for an Aston Martin. Black interior shows every spec of
dust, even immediately after detailing. Additionally, black leather really
shows every little finger nail scratch around door handles and seat belt
mechanisms. However, red/black is the most popular combination in Europe.
It does make the interior hot as hell on a bright summer day.

IMO, tan is the perfect accent for the red exterior.

Anyone like to comment on the interior color for a Titanium Silver exterior. Do the Titanium color make the car go faster? :)

I think both Burgandy and Navy Blue look great inside of a Titanium car.

I do. Black goes especially well with titanium because if you look at titanium up close, you can see some black.

But why do you care what anybody else thinks -- it's going to be YOUR Ferrari!

I would agree that tan would be the best color for a red exterior.

Why not just buy a red one, if you respray the car you lose a lot of value on it.
Plus change the interior? i dont understand.

My experience is that crema is a pain to maintain as it'll turn greyish in time, especially if you drive with windows down or if you have a GTS/Spider. It's amazing how much dirt leather can absorb (http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4510).
However, on the plus side, the leather won't get as warm under sunlight as a darker color, and, although I am no expert, that it does not get as dry as a
result and is easier to maintain from that p.o.v.
If you live in Singapore, you may want to take this into consideration.
Cracks/wrinkles are a lot more visible on black leather too.
Clear leathers are unforgiving in terms of dirt, but at least they 'warn' you when they need cleaning.

I was for a long time in the market for a titanium 550 w/ black interior. I finally settled for titanium/sabbia (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2807), without regrets.

I say if you have a preferance, just go for it. It's your car after all.

I personally stay away from black interiors but again, this is just my opinion.

Tan is traditional and Creme is somewhat more luxurious looking... go with what feels right to you!

Good luck and enjoy your little piece of perfection!

I still dont understand, you are going to buy a black 355 and spray it red, you are going to change the interior from grey to black, then you are going to chip the engine, why not just buy a 355 in this spec to start with?

The reason for the mods are: there are only 3 or 4 GTBs left in Singapore. The rest of the GTBs have been exported or scrapped. None for sale other then this one. The original color of the car was blue, so in terms of color changes its already had one...so the value of the car has already taken a hit.

The interior grey is getting really grubby, so since with the paint job, I thot a interior job at the same time would be good. AND I cannot stand the Gray.

I guess it boils down to not having much choice on color combinations on a 355GTB thats in the market at the moment.
