Don't beat me over the head with all the potential difficulties and inconveniences of doing this... I can imagine what they are.

What I want to know is, has anyone ever contemplated this? How awesome it would be! Does anyone know anyone who dropped a 360 V-8 into another Ferrari?

for that money you would have to spend ( + trade in your 348 ),just buy an used 360 and as side effect you also get the better car.

What about mounting a Pontiac Fiero engine in the 348. Would it fit? Or would the 348 engine fit inside the Fiero if you wanted to do that? In fact, how about a cummins diesel in the 348? Any thoughts?

Did you see the thread about BLACKHORSE putting a 355 powerplant in a 308QV (IIRC) chassis?

    Well I don't think a flat 12 would fit in a 308 or a 348...

But I think the 360 engine--an absolutely marvelous engine--would fit in just about any V-8 Ferrari.

You could build the 348 engine to produce about the same power for much less work and money I would think.

I'm sure you could make way more power than the 360 engine will give you by adding a supercharger or turbo to you 348 engine. My supercharged QV engine is delivering about 520 hp, Jeff (turbo348) is making about the same from his turbo 348. IMO you get way more bang for the buck by adding boost.

Have you had any reliability issues with your turbo'ed Ferrari engine? Any "Check Engine" or "Slow Down" light issues?

There are a couple of guys on the site with Twin turboed 348's, very fast machines. They seem to have pretty good reliability. I think Mark has a problem keeping the tires hooked up all the way to third. that is one bad QV!

Er v12, from a 330 I believe. Flat 12 would be impossible, with the car still resembling a 308 atleast ;)

Mine's supercharged, but no real reliability issues...I fried the clutch early on and had to upgrade it, but I like the new clutch much better han the old one anyway, it has a much lighter pedal (it's a tilton 7.25" triple disc carbon-carbon).... and rear tires don't live near as long as they used to :)

I'm using an aftermarket ECU, so no check engine light. This is my second supercharger, the cat was on the car with the first and it seemed fine. With the new blower setup, I removed the cat and installed a borla exhaust because I wanted more flow, so I don't know what would have happened if I left it on.

I think Jeff's 348 is really quite similar to my car but a few small differences. He's at 15 psi, I'm at about 18. I run a haltech ECU, his is Motech. I went with the multi-disc carbon-carbon, he has a single disc kevlar clutch. I think he still has his emissions stuff....I know there is a guy, Paul (turboQV) with about a 4550 hp QV that had to pass CA emissions...if I recall it has a hyperflow cat and a GM electric air pump. Norwood build both of the turbo cars, they can give you much better info about them than I can.
