Several years ago my parents somehow managed to convince Ferrari of Houston to let me have my birthday party (I believe I was 7ish) on the showroom floor. They closed the dealership off one day, gave me a few small gifts which I still cherish, and even let me sit in an F40 (still vividly remember it) and an old Ferrari F1 car. It was sitting in the F40 that changed my life forever and started my love affair with the car...Now I know I must own one :) I dont remember as much about the F1 car suprisingly, but I do remember specifically that it had paddle shifters. It was obviously before I moved to California in 96 so I figure the year I sat in the car to be around 94 or 95. Can anyone help me locate which F1 car was on the showroom floor around that time? This was way back when Ferrari of Houston was at their old location.

Those people at Ferrari of Houston were so nice to me...My parents used to drive me there every weekend so I could look around the showroom in awe. The true kindness and patience of the people at the dealership is something I will NEVER forget. Unfortunately not something you can find much anymore :(

So I would appreciate some help locating the car! Thanks :)

You know, Brother Jordan - what you ought to do is send them a bio, with pics. Let them know they infected you with this disease. Somewhere along the way, compare it to Citizen Kane uttering "Rosebud." If that doesn't get a rise out of them, I don't know what will.

I also had good experiences when young, at Ferrari of Dallas. Living in Oklahoma, anytime I came to Dallas with my parents, I always made them stop at the Ferrari dealership. A13 I was going in there and looking over all the cars. Not once did they ever stop me, or watch me like a hawk. I was respectful of the cars, but I still remember being amazed that no one seemed to care.

FoD has always let me just look around and not follow me every step of the way. They have always been real helpful and willing to answer any questions. LoD was nice but would not let me enter the showroom without an escort. Maybe they had some idiot do something to a car and won't let just anybody look around unsupervised.

I had a very nice experience years ago with FoH. I wanted some info on used F's and a salesman (can't remember his name) spent time filling me in on purchasing a used Ferrari. He even took me back to the service department to show me what was then a new F40.

I never had of any problem with the old Class Ferrari location. A man by the name of Tony Zarcone (sp) gave myself & some friends a tour of building, I still have the poster that I bought from that day.

Same goes for FoH, they even hosted a SCCA monthly meeting last year for us the garage & gave us a full tour of the place. That was the best time I ever had there.

I asked FoH it it was ok to take photos at this meet, they had no problem with it as long as I didn't use them to promote a business. Just about eveyone in the tour had a camera anyway. That is what the fuss was all about Alan.
