What exactly is performed at the 5K service? From what I remember vaguely, it's fairly basic? I'm looking at an 03 360M with 2700 miles and would like to know what service will be required in the near future. Thanks.

They replace all of the fluids, tighten bolts, etc. You should have a look at the manuals for all of the details. (Plus, you'll find out whether the seller still has them!)

    $1000-1300.

The 5K or 1 year service only is for oil change and inspect a lot of other things. Mine involved the change of the pollen filter ($150) and the total was less than $900 at the dealer. There is no torquing of suspension until 15K.

i opted to save the $150 and told the dealer not to change my pollen filter.

In our 5k service we do an oil service, change air, and ac filters, change the gearbox oil, flush and bleed the brakes and clutch. Total in parts is ~500 after tax, and these are all factory parts. Service I think charges 8hrs labor.
