current custom built 'Puter is getting old at almost 4 years old, with some upgrades. i am building a custom one with all parts bieng purchased from www.Newegg.com . i also, refuse to buy some prebuilt computer and i strongly dislike Dell. Windows XP has enough crap i have to hunt down and turn off as it is.( custom stripped install) ref: ( www.blkviper.com)
Dell and America Online are even worse. i will never EVER use either again. even if if they were free. :( :) :(

Desktop. Compaq. Old as dirt. Celeron 500. Still runs on same HD (no reformat) since 1999. Never use it since it's soooo slooooowwwwwwww.

Compaq laptop. POS. Athlon XP 1500, slow, ugly, unreliable, battery now lasts 30 mins ... pretty yuck, actually.

Toshiba laptop. Satellite 5200. Awesome. Screen is the most beautiful ever. Super fast. NVidia graphic card, enough for big engineering projects, DVD burner (yup, in a laptop). Integrated wireless, battery lasts 2:30 hours. Just love the puter. It's big and heavy though.

Custom built PC - much better option than anything you can buy from Dell, Compaq, Gateway and the like, if you know what you're doing.

    Intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz
Gigabyte 8KNXP motherboard using Intel i875 chipset, SATA RAID, PATA RAID, Intel gigabit ethernet, firewire, USB
    1GB Corsair XMS3200 400Mhz DDR-SDRAM, CAS 2.0
Leadtek nVidia GeForceFX 5950 Ultra, 256MB
Sony Multiscan CPD-G420 19" inch Flat Display Trinitron CRT Monitor
Creative Labs Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum
Boston Acoustics 4.1 Dolby Surround Speakers
Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000rpm SATA-150 drive running Windows and main applications, plus four Western Digital 120GB 7200rpm drives for general storage
    Pioneer 16X DVD-ROM Drive
    Plextor PlexWriter 52x/24x/52x CD-RW Drive
    Sony 1.44MB floppy disk drive
Lian-Li PC70 full-tower case with factory side panel window
Lian-Li aluminium fan-cooled removable hard disk drive rack, designed for 15,000rpm SCSI drives
Enermax 430W switching power supply with adjustable fan speeds
    Blue cold-cathode light
Thrustmaster H.O.T.A.S. (Hands On Throttle And Stick) F16 Fighting Falcon replica flight control unit
    Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard
    Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0
    Microsoft Window XP Professional

    That about covers it. :)

Well, I was for a while, but my upgraded 64K chip died, and then my tape drive crapped out, and I had a hard time finding a black and white TV to hook it to, so...

I plugged my Apple IIC in, and away I went!!!

But not until I finished playing Karoteka, the finest game ever produced!

UPS is now using Dell for its shipping systems. We get two from them, every couple of years. They recently switched from Compaq to Dell, tied it together with a nice shipping contract, too, I'd bet.

Exclusive shipper for Dell, exclusive computer for UPS. There may be other systems available, but my rep definately poshed the Dell stuff.

Oh, and I'm using an Inspiron 8150 laptop at home, from Dell.
