http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2485211693&category=6058 Carrera GT for sale in Florida. $450,000 seems like a pretty good price.
There is a Black Carrera GT at the Collection in Miami 8 miles on the odometer, 465,000.00 if you think the car looks impresive in pictures, you should see it in person,,,,,,,,,,,,, sick Armando
If anyone is looking, I know of one for sale - Silver / Black. Looking for $500K. Seems reasonable, but are people paying $50K over for a Porsche? It will be interesting to see where the EBay car sells for. Scottie
MSRP was $450 and change. Out the door was about $470. The car is REALLY nice - although the looks are a bit "tame" for a car in THAT price range - and the performance is breathtaking. In my experience the closest comparison it to would be a 333 - except the Porsche had a roof, was more comfortable, had a stereo and had A/C. The fellow that has it is really a Ferrari guy. He would rather see the money go to a nice F-40. If he can flip the car and make a buck, he will let it go. Otherwise, he will just keep it and put of the F-40 for a few months. Martin - if you would like to see the car in person, just let me know. I can arrange a "viewing." Scottie
BRutto Horse Power Enzo beater because otherwise they can not sell them! I hear you can still buy them list from the P-dealer. They are not sold out and that speaks for itself LOL
Every "Supercar" that comes out lately is an "Enzo Killer", "Enzo Beater" or "Enzo Eater" which should, in itself indicate what "Supercar" is the current king. If these companies (and there are too many to list here) want to prove what an "Enzo Beater" they really have, put them on the race track side by side and prove it in front of 150,000 fans and millions of television viewers around the world. Having seen denziens of Enzos (ridden in one) and seeing one Carrera GT, the first thing noticable between the two is how small the GT is. Obviously, Porsche is obsessed with weight having riden in my friends new GT3 last week, the doors cant weigh more than 3lbs and seem flimsy. Porsche are missing marketing opportunities with the GT left and right. There should have been one on display at Sebring this year and if there was one at the Rennsport Daytona Reunion at Daytona, I sure never saw a picture of it. But, considering the company, none of these things should come as a surprise; bunch of arrogant fops. Porsche's on-again, off-again dance with actually racing the Carrera GT wont happen unless they know (that) they have certain built-in advantages in the rules so as long as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Corvette and (now) Maserati are in the mix, dont expect to see Porsche return to compete any time soon. BHW
My mistake, there was one (1, uno) Carrera GT at the Daytona Rennsport Reunion in a field of (what was reported to be) upwards of 500 cars. BHW
Granted but you cant buy and R8 for the street. And, even if you could, every time you wanted to start it, an official Audi engineer would have to be present. Ask Dave Maraj how frustrating that is. Guud, ja? BHW
Cool article on Dave's Le Mans adventure in this months Car and Driver. It's a bit different from the days my MK-IV ran there...
James, everything is different from "those" days no no I am not implying you are old LOL... R8 is one wicked machine. Would love to drive that to the office every now and then. "what do you mean I was going 45 in a 30, Officer? I was merely in idle!"
And if anyone WOULD it would be you Martin. Slap some plates on that baby and were off - To the office, heck - maybe even INTO the office. Scottie (wasn't there, saw nothing)
AMS @ Autodromo del Levante in Bari has the CGT lapping the Enzo in under 60 laps - (note too the CGT is quite difficult to drive early on vs. the automatic Enzo so lap times should decrease more on the CGT than with the Enzo with experience): CGT: 53.86 Enzo: 54.98 Merci: 55.82 SLR: 57.45
I think its a horribley ugly car as well the rear the front is nice the wheels are everything but tayste full. Everyone that calls there cars the Enzo proves that there comparing there car to the elite "Ferrari Enzo"..
Car is great looking but I think that the prices will drop on them because of their production numbers. They are making FAR more than the Enzo.
at the top of the Gotthard pass during our fchat rally switzerland, we have accidentally met a gt in real, see pics at http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28705 it was bought by a guy from thailand, which put 1000km on it in 2 days. actually it happened to be the car of an uncle of a ferrarichat member the world is small .... but i have to confess that i wasn't that impressed, the car looks rather unimposing and sounds like a vacuum cleaner
