Reasons I'm not going to Monterey next week: 1. To cheap to pay an airline to haul my butt to Cali. 2. To long a drive from NC to Cali 3. No Fchatters offered to give me a life on their jets (INT or GSO would be fine, if you're coming my way) 4. Dog scheduled for cataract surgery (yes, the Jack Russell mascot) 5. Bad haircut still haunts me from 10 days ago. What's your excuse? -Daniel
Reasons I'm not going to Monterey next week: 1. Hitch hiking from NH to CA takes two solid weeks. 2. Driving from NH to CA would use (with pinky on lips) one MILLION dollars at current gas prices, oil change prices, and servicing 3. No Fchatters offered to give me a life on their jets (INT or GSO would be fine, if you're coming my way) 4. Pet parrot Billie tends to laugh at other drivers, mocking them in the process 5. Have better things to do then go to the Republik Of Kalifornia... also known as the Land of Fruits and Nuts
To far to travel, although Jordan 747 did say he would fly over and pick me up, gardens not big enough for him to land.
1. To cheap to use a free Southwest Voucher to haul my butt to Cali. 2. To long a drive from TX to Cali 3. No Fchatters offered to give me a life on their jets 4. Can't miss my daughters first day of school 5. Can't miss my Fantasy Football Draft night at Hooter's Not neccessarily in that order!!!
1. Too cheap to drive from Southern California to Northern California 2. I didn't go to Monterey when Jaguar was the honored marque 3. Darth's 550 was not going to be judged in the concorso 4. Paying some crappy hotel double rates for the weekend 5. About to quit/switch my job, Monterey falls under frivolous expense category The real reasons are #2, #3 and #5 IN that order!
1) have to mow the grass 2) to far to drive (FL to CA) 3) much rather go to the Amelia Island Concours, much more laid back and casual affair. Plus it's a lot closer to home.
1 Ferrari information overload, I may explode. 2 Court order that doesnt permit me to leave the state of Texas. 3 Its being held in KALIFORNIA. 4 Obligations to family. 5 Lack of funds.
1) It's around the time of my 10 year anniversary 2) Wife doesn't think looking at hundreds of cars is romantic 3) Wife does think that going on a cruise is romantic 4) If Dom wants any nookie, Dom will go on the cruise with the wife. Dom
My list: 1. Ferrari needs coolant/oil/thermostat change, brake upgrade, exhaust tinkering, detailing supplies, Aluminum pedals, and possibly a new radiator if the $%#&* overheating in stop-and-go traffic doesn't stop.... 2. Never been to Monterey, but I bet the hotel prices there would cover some of the above expenses.... 3. If the hotel bill doesn't, then the plane ticket would probably set me back the cost of ANSA tips, a bypass pipe, and having the headers ceramic coated....and the radiator, pedals, brake upgrade, etc.etc.etc. 4. I know absolutely no one out there who actually knows how to party.... 5. Driving my Ferrari is LOADS more fun than looking at someone else's parked Ferrari (especially when he's some stuffy old Choad who never drives his car anyway....its just for 'show') I would go, however, to photograph Mr. Glick's 330 P4, however.....that's about the only reason why I'd fly out there. And to hear that thing fly around the track in anger...
LOL. Yes! Write your senator and/or congressman! Well, school sent me some paperwork and we're going to try and get me a student visa - which isn't normally available, but we're pushing a technicality in the requirements that can make it possible. I will try this in the next 3-4 days. The "quick re-entry permit," called a K-3, was applied for long, long ago and it is just waiting in line to be approved at a gov't office in Missouri. I have been trying to get Teddy Kennedy's office to have it expedited for about 5 months, without seeing any results yet. The full spouse visa application was also done, and on the paperwork it said if I was out of North America for more than 12 mos continuously, I needed police clearance from the country I was staying in. Since I was gone no more than 11 mos at a time, I didn't send in the clearances (I had ordered it anyway, the NZ police returned my couriered request w/o the clearance cause I didn't use the right form). So the visa office in New Hampshire wrote yesterday and said my application won't be processed until the NZ Police check arrives - because I was there over 6 months. Now, you're saying to yourself, "but the paperwork explicity said 12 months in a foreign country," and that's true. But now the INS office is telling me 6. This is the way this process has been. They'll say, "if this _______, send a red form," so you send red and they respond 7 weeks later saying, "you should have sent the blue. When we get the blue, we will continue processing."
wow- guess you have never been to Monterey. Some of the best parties of my life have happened on 17 mile drive and down off Canary Row....oh the memories...
Let's see...... 1) It IS a darn long way to California, even with Dan Gurney driving.. 2) Sleeping on the beach...sand gets in EVERYTHING. 3) Gf is busy..kids off to school. 4) FFQC is closer...P3/4 and others will be there, too. 5) Probably time to change the plugs, coolant, oil, timing belts or SOMETHING.... 6) Not finished painting my rims...I'd be embarressed. But the real reason IS: There won't be a parking place left, anywhere in Southern California! Darn shame, as the yellow 250LM asked if I was coming by!
Hmm... this makes me wonder if either: a) you need to get out more or b) college age lesbians attend the parties and dance together doing barely legal things on the dance floor... and ask you to join in.
No need to get out more.........just have had some VERY fun parties with quite a selection of people. From high people up from a certian Italian company that seemed to attract the best that Monterey had, to champange cork's flying over 17 mile hitting the F40 parked on the other side of the street.........And remember...Lesbians and college age over here means hippies.....Santa Cruz grows them with hair everywhere!...damn birkenstocks
1. I might miss the new Homestar Runner episode (www.homestarrunner.com) 2. My request to show my *mint* Honda Accord at Monterey was politely refused 3. I'm staying home to showcase my solidarity (for what cause, I haven't yet decided) 4. My new Ferrari shoes aren't broken in yet (don't want to take them on a long trip) 5. Already have a condo rented in florida for the week (yes, it just happens to coincide with the FF'ING HURRICANES!!)
Unfortunately the USAF did not look kindly on this Lieutenent driving a convertible Vette ~1700 miles to Monterey So much for my plans to do some convertible cruising with Carbon. But I am flying out
