During a film shoot while the crew lunched we were rolling the cars used in the previous shots off set over to my transporter, when an assistant asked on the walkie if we wanted lunch plates and where to put them.i said just put them over by the red car,and somehow the chain of command down translated to:THE FERRARI FOOD WARMER...... (no watermelon jokes plz)
not mine, yet, but defintely one of the worst pictures of a truly great sports car. For those not quite sure what it is, well its a 1975 Porsche Carrera Turbo, aka 930. Image Unavailable, Please Login
this was my first ferrari. the water actually got about 3-4 inches higher than the water line you see. by far my worst pictures! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Was it a flood of some sort? what happend And is the car a 512 TR? I'm impressed by the cars owned and posted here in this forum its amazing and its helping my Ferrari and car gallery lol
was there alot of damage done? i once saw a 355 spyder for sale for 15k, totally wrecked but good for parts and the engine was in good working order, front of car was not looking normal though......if anyone wants to look at wrecked and damaged cars go to www.wreckedexotics.com Some of the photos are not good and it's pretty amazing how some owners manage to damage thier cars in strange ways
yeah, it was a silverstone verde 355. tropical storm allison in june 2001, iirc. not sure if you can tell from this pic but the leather is completely warped and, well, it was disgusting. although not nearly as disgusting as the interior looked after sitting in the houston sun for a week - closed environment, leather and carpets saturated with flood/sewage water = lots o mold... that is what made my eyes water when do you think you saw it on ebay? i know it was bought by a dealer at the auction but can't remember where he was from. it does show up on carfax as salvage title. Ty, I remember you discussing your car in past threads & what had happened to it during the flood. This is the first time that I've seen the photos, I gotta say I was in shock. I hope every thing is well in Houston these days. Will
It was a while ago. It was being sold by some guys that only deal in damaged stuff. Who know's, could have been yours. Oh well. Did you move to a 360 now?
I'll say 'mostly' - the major demon in this instance was an original bakelite terminal block for 4 major wires that had a crack all the way through it - causing intermittent, but total, electrical failure. . .. should've sent the clock out for quartz movement while I had it out . . .
Hi Sheik, How do like your Esprit? I got the S4, Love it a lot. Do you know any good Lotus Forum? Pat
Yikes, didn't know that Ty. Glad to see it didn't take long for you to jump back into the Ferrari family.
will, all is well in htown... hopefully same for you up north! i actually was planning to trade the car in for a 360 anyway so once i heard the insurance company's offer, i maybe smiled... a bit as soon as their check cleared i was off to FOH!!!! bryan: pictures like that are why i don't even try to hardwire my V1! lol.
