    Not enough demand I suppose.

If Pozzi and a few others asked for it, I'm sure Rob would oblige.

Is there a strong enough user base?

I'm sure a "Brazilian Wives in Bikinis vs. F1 Transmission" thread would absorb a lot of Fchat's total traffic.

Once there's enough users that want to participate, then we can add any international area.

Puerto Rico isn't in South America but the taxes to buy a Ferrari there are out of this world, just like in South America. I have friends who buy Porsches and Ferraris in Puerto Rico and for example a Porsche C4S thats about $83,000 in U.S. in Puerto Rico is $133,000. A friend of mine bought a new 355 Berlinetta back in '95 or '96 and he paid $185,000. Another one paid $185,000 for a 993TT. A convertible Corvette is over $80,000, an NSX is $125,000. To put it into perspective I moved over there in '92 until '99 and took with me a '86 328GTS and I paid for it $65,000 at Shelton and it cost me about $600 to transported to Puerto Rico, I was told that the taxes I had to pay to get the car inside the island and to get the tag and everthing else was about $2,500 but by the time the car got there they changed the taxes at the ports do to people buying the cars from the states and importing them to the island, so to my surprise I was asked to pay $21,000 to register the car so I could drive it in the island. It is also sort of add that the Porsche factory dealer and the Ferrari factory dealer are the same dealership, at least it was like that while I lived there. Most of the true track guys buy Ruf Porsches but more people are buying Ferraris again due to factory service back in the island. There is a FOC Puert Region but I don't know thier number of members. Puerto Rico is a very rich place and one of the best places for real state, it is a gold mine. Puerto Rico or Porto Rico(old spanish) stands for "rich port".

because in a 3rd world country , "luxury" cars are almost twice as expensive when compared to U.S. prices. eventho Mexico City's Ferrari dealer (scuderia mondial) managed to sold 2 Enzos down here. I saw them and also 1 out of 448 Maranello Barchettas was sold there.

No, but you can't go faster than 55 on that road I believe wiouth breaking the law. Hence that old heavy metal song from the 80's "I cant drive 55". but in south america we have cops that can be bribed for the price of a cup of coffee. LOL.

this is not to be an insult to anybody from south america. just personal experience.

By Dec 2001 all the Ferraris on the roads iN Buenos Aires had disappeared,Pity as there was a guy with a 365BB who used to park in my hood.

Today its far too dangerous to drive around in a flashy car, even an old 300ZX or RX7 is over the top now.

Drive a flashy car in BA & you risk getting mugged, kidnapped, or murdered & who the H wants that

I dont even own a car in BA I just move around with a car service
