What are your thoughts? Too many miles? What should one pay?
I dont know if they go bad after 50,000 miles (althoug i sincerely doubt it). but i can assure you they do go bad if left in a garage and never driven. cheers
I have almost 90k on my 328 and I'll bet it's more reliable than any car on this board. Another guy who has his 328 serviced at Norwood has more than 160k miles. Try buying a boxer or some other car than was shrunk wrap with 700 miles on it twenty years ago. Yikes. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the 360 and I'd be happy about the miles, because you can take it out on the price and get what is liekly to be a more reliable car.
Gecko, I looked at that car too, love the color but realized that with any driving at all, I would soon be over 50k and then reselling would be like pulling teeth unless i was willing to give it away. I figure that car is worth more like 103 to 105.
Depends on how well the car was taken care of. 43,000 is alot of miles for any exotic car, and although Ferrari's can be very reliable machines...it would be tough for me to spend any more than about $115,000 for it. No matter how good the condition. -Doug
Just over 10k per year seems fine to me, so long as the maintenance has been done right. That'd be average for a 911! Must be a sound, reliable car for an owner to have used it like that. Check for stonechips, interior wear as this might be worse than others, but can see no reason on the face of it not to pursue it. Bet you'd save money too because low mileage cars command a premium. Buyers' perceptions, nothing more. Robert.
car is at park place motors in Seattle www.parkplaceltd.com I think they would be flexible on the price. I was considering this while waiting for my 360/430 to come.
FYI, Park Place runs a rental company as well (www.parkplacerentals.com), so I'd say there's a pretty good chance that 360 was used as a rental, which might explain the mileage. There is a stigma that goes with rental cars, but let me try to ease your mind: The perception of how customers treat the cars is much worse than the reality. After nearly 15k rental miles (the last 10k of which have been trouble-free, following an F1 pump replacement), my 360 is running stronger than ever and the only significant scratch on the body is my fault. Be sure to check the car out in person and have a thorough PPI -- obviously if it's not properly maintained, the interior can get pretty rough after that much use, but you might have a great deal on your hands. (When I'm ready to sell mine, someone's going to get a great car for a great price) nlh
The car is on consignment and the owner has turned down 113k. Maybe he will become more reasonable if it sits there for another 2 or 3 months....
If you're looking at that one because of price maybe consider a Euro...you can get a 99 or 00 euro with <10k miles for that price range..$105-110 for a 99 and $115-120 for a 2000.
I put some 100 000 miles on my 512 TR with no real problems and a guy I know sold his with 185 000 miles on it and the car has over 210 000 miles on it now AND the engine has never been opened. Drive 'em and they'll never go wrong Sit and look at them and they'll always be a problem Better an early 360 with 43000 miles than the same year with 5000
Lol....i think $110k would be riduculous. A good friend of mine bought a mint condition 360 from a Ferrari dealer with 10k miles for $115k. $5k less for a car with 33k more miles would be just retarded.
