Thanks. The list looks a bit funny as it is from my Excel sheet, so it is year, type of car and title of movie. It is not complete obviously, which makes this hunt so much fun. Hunting down the individual movies is an even bigger challenge. The reason I didn't include TV shows is, that they have for the most part become impossible to find. Unless you taped it when it aired, you're SOOL.
Speaking of TRs, there's a 512 TR in some movie with Michael Douglas as some kind of international spy or something like that... And his son or daughter is trying to marry this other guy's daughter or son (i don't remember which is which) and then there's this whole problem with a submarine and a missile during a wedding or something like that... If you've seen it, you'll know which movie i'm talking about... Also, last night (or maybe it was two nights ago, i don't recall), there was a movie on HBO; a real b-rate, straight to video type of flick... One of the main characters, a dude, owns a night club; he's very full of himself, but also very insecure and he's abusive towards his wife... Anyway, his brother/friend comes to town and they're hanging out and the brother/friend character realizes something's not right with this dude and his wife... The abusive dude's wife kill's her husband, then gets this brother/friend character to help her dispose of the body... Anyway, for about 3 seconds in the movie, she was driving a Grigio Titanio 360 Spider...
Maybe this is a repost and maybe I am a little behind the times. But in the 2002 movie XXX, the majority of the cars stolen by the Russians rogue soldier unit (Anarchy 99) conssists of Ferraris. I think it was about two minutes after that when I could not stand how stupid the movie's story line was and went back to reading a nice book. There have been so many good movies with Ferraris being driven in them. That is a good list by tifosi12. (As I scroll down to check in his list, I see the 2002 XXX mentioned in it.)
Add another one to the list. Watched a movie last week on tv called "Evel Knievel", staring George Eads (nick on CSI Las Vegas) . Story about the guys life. Once he made it big, buying fancy houses, ect. he drove a yellow Dino 246GT. Bunch of shots of the car driving around. Looked nice, sounded nice.
Great list!! I could just be missing them, but I don't see "Gone in Sixty Seconds" on your list... Also, it has been YEARS since I have seen it, but doesn't "Ghost" have a TR in some of the early scenes?
I only listed the old Gone in 60 seconds, my mistake of course. I'll find out about Ghost. Stay tuned.
I think you're right about that. Very brief though. Speaking of briefness: I'm guessing that the 456 in "The world is not big enough" is probably the shortest appearance of any Ferrari in a movie. Blink and you miss it.
Watch the horrible "On the Beach" starring Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner, made in 1959. You will see Fred Astaire, of all people, racing a TR. Quite a few shots of the car if you can get through this oddly done (but not for Stanley Kramer) picture. If you can't stand the song Waltzing Matilda, don't go near this movie
I can think of another. If you get a chance, watch the part of Beverly Hills Cop (1st one) where Axel Foley goes to the private club that the villain belongs to. You can see a red 308 as the camera pans across the parking lot. Also, if I remember correctly, there is a black Mondial 3.2 Cabrio driven by a woman in Lover Boy from 1989.
Got it in my rental queue at Netflix, will pay attention. Some shots are so brief that you miss them by fast forwarding. The parked 308 in Roxanne is another example. The funny thing is, that in these big budget productions NOTHING happens on screen by random. So if there is a parked Ferrari somewhere it is because they wanted it in that shot. Now why they just pan across it in a milli second beats me...
These are all starting to come back to me. I remember seeing several exotics (possibly a Ferrari or two) in Get Shorty. They would be in the driveway of the house belonging to Danny DeVito's character.
Another one: Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. Brief shot of Christina Applegate getting dropped off in a red Testarossa.
Somebody did already. But your mentioning "The Replacements" is the first time I ever heard about. Added to Netflix, thanks!
