I read somewhere the 360 F1 needs a new clutch every 3k. I have just bought one but not sure how I am supposed to tell if I need a new clutch.. the car has 6k on the clock. Is this accurate?

Still have the original clutch in my 2001 360 F1 with over 29,000 miles. I'm the original owner.

No that is not true. As with any car with a clutch how long the clutch lasts is largely dependant on how you use it. However a good understanding of how the F1 system operates will help you get a long and happy life out of your clutch. It is true that F1 clutches during long term durability testing did wear about 40% faster than 6 speed cars.

Did you have a PPI done before you bought your 360? If so, the PPI report should contain the approximate clutch wear status.

Man, seems like the supposed unreliability of 360's is a little overrated. Sure, there have been a few to get whacked but I think overall you'd find they are pretty reliable. Knock on wood. 6,800 miles on mine and original clutch.

You can tell when the clutch is going when it pops out of gear and a warning signal goes off. The dealer can adjust the parameters so you can get more life out of it ;)

I have 16.5k miles on a 2000 modena. Original clutch and no problems with the F1 at all.

I think you were reading about Lamborghini clutches. Apparently their clutches aren't terribly forgiving of abuse (or any use short of babying) :)
