    Consider this guys:

According to the auction the painting is in Glasgow...

Now, what's to stop some AK owner, having heard about this robbery, getting his print of "Scream" (or photoshopping it into the photo), dressing in black and posing for the camera with his gun and the "painting"?

Just blot out the eyes to make it look like you really care about "concealing" your thief identity, start an auction on Ebay, post the picture and voila! ;)

Also, the real painting is worth over 50 million dollars...You'd have to be a pretty dumb criminal to try to sell a stolen item worth that much over Ebay!

Yes indeed this is a sad thing to Norway (I live here so I know) - they still havent got any leads/clues of wher they are.
The theft was done by two morons who dropped the painting (Scream)twice in the ground.
The value on thise two paintings are.....(I hope you're sitting down) :D:D:D

    "SCREAM" - about 500.000.000 Norwegian crowns ( 72.458.517 USD)
    "MADONNA" - about - 180.000.000 NOK (26.085.066 USD)

TOTAL: - 98.543.583 USD - now THATS a lots of money, or ????

The highest bid was over 30,000 pounds... which has since been withdrawn. Looks like someone either came to their senses or it was an accomplice of the prankster trying to bait other bidders.

After doing some research, I found out this painting was stolen once before; back in 1994. It was recovered 3 months later.

You think they would have learned! LOL!

EDIT: Apparently stolen from 2 different museums now.

No, they havent learned their lession.....
Actually it was from a another museum, two morons climbs up a ladder and smash the window, climbes in, steal it and leaves - done in 1.35 sec.
And yes, it was recoverd 3 months later, with a minor damage.

what stinks is that knuckleheads like this will make it where if I ever make it to see it, it will be behind glass with ropes and trip wires surrounding it.

I went to the Chicago Museum of Art and was looking at a Picasso and I got so close I could see a paint brush bristle stuck in a glob of paint. That was really cool. A guard then asked me to lean back, but still cool to get 1 inch away.

People just have no respect anymore.

Was it the same painting that they stole?
Munch made several (i think 5) versions of his Scream.

Hi Bertus....(nice to see you here too) ;)
Munch made 5 copies of his "Madonna".....as far as I know he only made 1 scream. thats why its so damn valuble.
