    nice work, Scott - before you pour the slab and since you are doing your electrical rough-in, have you thought about running some conduit through the slab and placing some strategically-placed light fixtures to shine up on the cars' undercarriage? also, if you ever want to place hydraulic lifts in the future, this would be the time to fatten up the slab roughly where the lift supports would be located . . . just an idea.

    I am putting 2 lifts in already, slab is 6" thick with tons of rebar so should be good. Not sure about the light fixtures in the floors -- I do have outlets all over and in the ceiling for retractable worklights to do the same.

    we are almost ready to pour the concrete walls. the garage is 25x25 and will be a two story structure with workshop/storage above, and of course a plexiglass floor above the 308. the garage will match the house with log on second story and granite on the first with lots of glass block. keep ya alll posted........

    Where do the drains go? I am pretty sure that here in MA drains in garages are not allowed because they would drain oil into the environment and groundwater. I'm in the middle of a garage construction project too and they told me I couldn't have drains.

    Scott, I have never seen a building that big poured after the fact. From my experience here in N. Calif, we pour a slab with footings and build on top of it with peremiter bolts to attach walls. How do you finish the slabs without being able to scree across them? Just curious, not saying this is wrong just don't see how to finish slab with walls in place. Job looks great and will be a great addition. I finished a large two car just a couple of years ago and now am trying to figure out how to add another or add on! Keep the pics coming, John

    hi guys,

    talking about garages have you guys seen the book Ultimate Garages.
    its great. The cars and the designs are awsome.

    Do any of you guys in the US have some more photo's of David Sydoricks amazing garage. He is a retired wall street investment banker who has some of the best looking and historical cars around. Any further pictures or information would be great to see.
