    My 328GTS runs perfectly...or so I thought.

I joined the "Performance Drivers' Assc" (http://www.pdadrivingschool.com/index.jsp) and spent Saturday on the long course at Pocono Raceway. What a blast. They used parts of the banked circuit linked by the infield tracks. There were cars of every description: Lambos, AMGs to Miatas. There's nothing like going 130mph 6" from a NASCAR wall! Anyway, the car ran like a train...absolutely fabulous. After the 5th run it was running like a thoroughbred horse. Started with a mere click of the key. The run back along the I80 was the best ever, we just blew past everything. The sound of the engine is so much crisper.

Think your car runs well? Get it on the track and you'll be amazed

...except maybe going 130 INTO a nascar wall without a nacar roll cage, safety harnesses, fire suit, ect....... The track is a lot of fun, but not nearly as safe as you may have been lead to believe.

Took the car out for the first time after Pocono yesterday. What a difference! The engine is so much more responsive and the sticky throttle I had has completely gone. It's now so light I can barely feel it. Fantastic.

By the way, PDA had plenty of marshals and there were no accidents. They say they've had very few incidents over the years. The events are very well managed. If you're new, they'll assign an instructor.

I see you gave your car an 'Italian Tune Up'. There is nothing like a good high speed thrashing to get a performance car running right. Unfortunatly most people confuse speed with abuse. These cars NEED a good run now and then.

Totally agree. It's almost funny... the more you beat the snot out of the car, the better it runs. After ripping though some twisties, pounding the brakes, running the gears, and watching the tach fly, the car just feels better and better. Agreed, throttle response -seems- to be wildly improved after a hard run. It defies logic, but I experience the same thing.

Driving my 308 home in 60 miles of stop & go traffic after 2 years of rotting in probate was an exercise in frustration. The throttle was godawful sticky and I had to stay on the clutch waaaay too long to get a smooth shift and it was inconsistent and unpredictable. After tearing up the freeways for the next few evenings the throttle settled in and the car behaved itself...well, sort of..the power window motors then promptly died and then the horn sounded during every sharp turn and then the emergency brake...well, you get the pic.
