My Testarossa has started having a problem when it has been run a while. When I turn off the engine, it will not start until it has cooled down some. It makes no noise and just acts as if no electricity is flowing to starter. Any ideas? Also, does anyone have any pictures or diagrams of where the starter and solenoid are located? Thanks.

I've seen a couple of TRs with solinoid problems that have the same symptoms. Next time it happens have someone hold the key in the start position and give the starter/solinoid a rap with a small hammer.

    (Unfortunately) not uncommon. This thread:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/330238.html

has some good visual shots of the TR starter location that Jeff Green posted, but do a search at the old site on:

"TR solenoid ace" (AND mode, parts of words)

and you should get ~40 good reference threads.

    Good luck with the repair...

Glad you got it sorted -- can you give a little more feedback (retail price, hassle-to-locate, etc.)?

It was fairly easy to locate. Ace Electric has a website which lists their various distribution points across the nation. I called the distribution center in Charlotte where I live and they had one in stock. Purchase price was $21.00. Only difficulty I had (once I found the starter to begin with LOL) was the terminals on the Ace solenoid are slightly different than the Bosch terminals so I had to work a little bit to get the female plug to adapt to the terminal.
