i am going to be sick. i hope my buddy NETVIPER does not see this, he has a really nice white NSX. ugh.
In a sad way, you're probably lucky. If you got the car back, I'm sure the neanderthal's who stole it would have ripped it to shreds and it'd never be the same. If you're interested in Ferrari's, give me a shout. You're welcome to take mine for a spin and see if it's something that might float your boat. Give me a call or PM. -Daniel
The picture I posted is not my NSX. It is an older model one off nsxprime.com forum, but looks almost as bad(mine is a little more well done). Just so you guys have an idea of how bad it was. I wish I would have taken my dig. camera.
Yeah, it really bites since my Insurance agent says that I will probably not get anywhere near what the car is worth in the payout. Also, taking the option of buying it from the Insurance Company would be pointless since there is nothing left to part out. What really stinks is I am getting married in less than 2 weeks and this was my "getaway car". Guess I will have to try to sweet talk my uncle into letting me use his XK120 for a half hour or so. Oh well, it's a learning lesson. The next car will have a cutoff switch or shifter lock or something. Daniel- I will consider it. I got a good look at it at the Burmuda Run event. Very nice. I will not be able to do anything in the next month due to waiting on the payout on my piece of toast and my Honeymoon, ect.
Do you have any other pix of you car before this happened? BTW whats up with the burnt heap you posted? Thats not your car at least not the one you posted at the beginning of the thread whos car is that? PD
Sorry about the car! Some kids tried to steal Dr Strangelove Ferrari and wrecked it. As soon as I get the kinks out of my electrocute your a** to death car seats mod, I'll post it. Cheers
yeah, when I saw the pic I said that thing rusted quickly how were you able to determine the cause of the fire so quickly?
As posted earlier, the picture of the burned car was not mine, I was trying to give you guys an idea of how bad it was since I didnt have my camera with me. Mine was actually burned worse than this one. tifosi- I am not sure if that is what caused the fire, but the strut bar is crammed into the front valve cover, which would'nt help matters and could cause a nasty engine fire. speedy_sam- Sure, I have lots of them, email or PM me if you want them. As far as whos car that is, I have no idea, I saw it a while back on nsxprime in the crash and burn section and figured it would be good to use as a reference.
Holy ****ing ****. That REALLY sucks, i am SO sorry... i hope they catch the filthy bastards that did this... Geez, i'm really sorry...
No, I did not notice the secound page when I posted till right now!!!! Damn this really sucks...... Man, let me know what, if anything, we can do for you!!!! Who do you have your Ins with??
DrStranglove- Yeah it sucks. It's with State Farm. Well, how about a loaner for my wedding? HeHe, just kidding. Has anyone ever been through having a car totalled through your insurance? This is the first time I have ever had to file an insurance claim and am not sure how it all works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As for the questions about the NSX's replacement...not sure yet. It really depends on how much I get from mine. I would'nt mind another NSX, but I am kind of wierded out by them now since this whole experience.
I would but you must have missed this thread!!!!!! http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28094
Wow, sorry about that. No, I had'nt seen that thread. It's time to get vigilante on these fools who have no respect for other peoples things. Sorry, I am just venting my anger about all this on you Fchatters. Again, its a shame to hear that this happended to you DrStranglove.
I had a total loss claim over a stolen and totaled Buick Grand National once. Don't assume you have to take the insurance co's offer, it's only an offer. The guy that they will put you in touch with is supposed to do damage control (read, settle as cheap as possible). I wound up hiring a collectable car appraiser with very good credentials. When the ins. co. got his three page document they called me up stuttering. I got a very good settlement, worth every penny I paid him.
So what did they do with the car? Is it at a body shop or junk yard? Any pix yet? Do you have anything to curb your exotic appetite while you await a settlement? Keep us posted. PD
