With Ferrari releasing new lineups this month, you see a new trend or evolution of designs coming off the lot. Forget about business operations, partaining to the cars, you can get an idea of what may be in store for the future of Ferrari with technologies and design style.

I know it is early to tell, but the Ferrari GTO nearing its anniversary production. The Enzo has shadowed all Ferrari street performance leaving one to wonder what Ferrari may do with the GTO. Will the Ferrari GTO overshadow the Enzo, as its own original design with world class performance? Or will be be another offshoot from an existing series? Will it be a supercar all together?

We have many members close to the source and some with good thoughts. I'm currious to hear what your take on anything regarding the next Ferrari GTO.

Ideally, if it were to happen, the next GTO should be a dual purpose car much like the original. Drive it to the track, kick some major arse in a high profile race, pick up your trophy, and then drive home in it.

Alas, those days are gone. It's either a purpose built racecar (performance, safety, etc.) or just a street car (comfort, drivability, etc.), because any kind of compromise will ensure that the car will be relatively neither.

Either way, you have to admit that 14" steelies would compliment the lines drawn by Pininfarina very nicely :)

I think the 250 GTO will be hard to follow. Can't wait to see this. Pictured is the 2nd one produced in 62. I rode in it at Roebling.

Sorry, but i thought we were talking about the 288, not the 250, ie an 8 cyl. derivative of what was the old 3 series.
Do you really find the 250 GTO "stunning"? Its very aggressive, classic, and is supposed to be the pinnacle of the older ferrari driving experience, but to my eye, the low snout almost belongs on a different car than the rest of it. Somehow, the lines of the SWB are, to my eye, more coherent, but, i guess that's what makes "horse-racing."

A GTO would be cool if it were a replacement for the best 2 seat front engine V12 Ferrari...
