I think thats the way I'll buy the A8. Year old, low milage, still get the extended warranty and pick it up for a lot less then when new. My father-in-law has two 2.7 Turbos. Great cars. Never drove the A6 4.2, must be a lot of fun. I like the 4.2 because of the flared (just a little) fenders. Gives it a more muscular look. having the XJR, which is larger then the A6, I would stay within that size though. Thats why I would consider the A8. I think that the A6 doesn't have leg room in the back. Though, I hear the new one corrects that problem. I think the new model will be a huge success, and maybe the cash infusion will allow them to work on a low volume/high end sports car. My younger brother has the A4, 3.0 Quattro conv. as is every day driver. Great car and in a lot of ways better than my BMW convertable, but for some strange reason, people keep on buying the 3 series.

Great strategy on cars, and one I also pursue.

Is the S8 really coming out?

Do you put snows on the Jag? Ford claims that the Jags do really well in the winter wiht snow tires.

Also, the Cayenne Turbo will need snows. The tires are just too wide to get traction in foul weather

how well do you think snows will hold up on a Merc C230 Kompressor? RWD..

I had a TERRIBLE time last winter, I am never taking that car out on the snow again on current tires

I just switched from Perrellis to Continentals "extreme contacts" three weeks ago. Its suppose to make a difference. The bottom line, heavy front end, light rear end, 18's with low profile, not good in the snow. Put it this way, if its going to snow on Tues. I'm sliding on Monday! You never really notice the hills on the LIE, but without traction, you feel like your in the mountains on a sled. Scary! Especially where I live (North Shore). Its all hilly. Every year I say I'm buying another set of rims with Blizzaks, but I never get around to do it. If you wait till Oct., Tire rack is usually sold out. I've heard from other XJR owners that it didn't make that much of a difference. Ford must be refering to the X type or the S type. By the way, with the Perrellis I couldn't drive in the middle lane of the LIE without being all over the place. With the new tires, its much better. More meat in the sidewall. I don't have the problem with the Ferrari, because its covered by Nov. Another great tire for any truck owners is the Perrelli Scorpions. Just put a set on my Excursion. Made the huge truck feel much more stable and gave it better handling (if thats possible!).

all RWD car with summer tires will struggle big time. with all-seaon they should manage unless weather is really bad. with snow tires they should handle snow well.
