I find it hard to believe JR is the only one in Houston.

So if you don't want to dealer it and Moorespeed is too far in Austin, what do you do?

Are we just lucky in Dallas having 4-6 places to choose from? I'm so happy with Norwood that I haven't even tried others, but I know there are several others out there if needed.

Fix it in the driveway at your apartments............LOL!

The neighbors were IMPRESSED to see all the stuff flying around....

At the last FCA Rally I attended there were some shop names mentioned.
I'll make a few calls and report back...

He's not. There are countless others that work on them as well. Not many I guess have websites yet. Here's few that I know about.

    Memorial Autosport off of I-10
There's one near Belliare off Gulfton St, name escapes me
One on South Shepard. SkizoACE brought one to our attention a couple of months ago. (gang signs?)
    Mario's Motors on Richmond Ave
    etc.....

Someone needs to compile a list.

I'm not in Houston, so I could use some help compiling the list with name, address, number, and website. I've always just told people Pinnacle if they didn't want the dealer. Didn't know there were others.

Vintage Motorcars for the classics (up to 80's) although they also do newer cars. You should see the complete restoration that these guys do (currently a 275 GTB, a 250 GTE, my 308 GTB).

Very competent and honest. A definite alternative to Pinnacle!

    Located on Kempwood...

Worth a stop, witha 30-40 cars collection including 5 or 10 ferrari classics, although the owner has been selling some lately.

They have my 85 308 GTB right now. Ferda diagnosed the non start issue as the RPM (spark?) sensor. Ran like a charm one day...spin spin spin the starter the next. Oh well.

I am not entirely sure if Vintage is taking new customers or not.

Here she is all loaded up getting superb gas mileage on the way to Vintage yesterday morning. You can see my wallet crying in the reflection.

Vintage has have my 308 for 6 months. In the time frame, a complete mechanical restoration is performed: suspensions, A/C system, engine out and down to the pistons rings and valve guides, gearbox, brake system ...

The detail of work is unbeleivable. The only thing is that since Vintage belonges to a car crazy, his cars when he decides it go in front of other external customers. But, yes they accept clients.

The daytona, 250 and 275 engines, are beauties after restoration.

LSU308, I saw Ferda today, and we talked about your car... we will talk about it tomorrow.

I take my cars to EUROCAR-WERK, WWW.EUROCARWERK.COM. The manager there is Eric, and he has been extremely competent and honest. Right now, I take my F355 and RUF, I used to take my E55 before we shipped it to our place in Cocoa Beach, Fl.

I have owned my 328 since new. Originally I used Ferrari of Houston but when the 348 came out they actually told me that they were too busy to work on 328's any longer and so they referred me to Houston Eurosport. That shop was operated by Mario Hernandez. I had some major work done there and was very pleased. Unfortunately that shop closed and I was forced to look elsewhere. I stumbled upon Eurocarwerk's in Bellaire and have been very pleased. The work has been performed well. My only gripe has been that is seems to take longer to get the car fixed sometimes that I think it should take. It is perhaps because I never really push to get it back. The car has been there for a month getting a new a/c compressor and the wheels refinished. I do think that they are honest and try to get it right. I also think that if I pushed them to hurry up that they would. Mario Hernandez later opened Mario's Motors and I sent an Alfa Spyder over there to be restored and after six months pulled the car out of there because almost nothing was done. Mario's Motors has since stopped performing service work.

    SkizoAce,

I totally agree about Terry Lawell at Lawell Motorsports. He has done work for me on & off for years and is great to work with. Terry is about 2 hours from me and when he knows that I am enroute, he will always have a bay waiting for me.

    Mike,

Are those the rims on your 308 that you had told me you were changing ?

    Cheers !

"scratch mario motors off that list. i don't think mario will be doing much of anything for a while."

Is Mario in the can once again? or what?

I never liked Mario, not even when he was "good". It was rip off. I knew of his troubles because he got a loan from someone I used to know (I'm avoiding names here, so bare with me) nonetheless he ended up in the can and my frind without his money back. That was in his shop in Beverly Hill. Then he opened a new shop on Crossview, behind Fondren that look like a "narco" fortress, I later found out it was Mario's, but certainly it looked fishy. Then he moved to his actual location on Richmond. I have nothing against Mario, ok, just going through the facts. I had 3 friend who took their cars with him and besides expensive the work was nothing out of extraordinary, so...

Is FoH stil Rissi's or he sold? just asking because its been ages since I been there...

Yes, those are the ones. The new rims are sitting in my office about 4' away from me awaiting for the RPM sensor to be replaced...once she is screaming again I am taking her out for her new shoes.
