    Hi All

Having sold my 348 spider im now looking to upgrade to a F355.

Im going to see a 1994 F355B this weekend and was hoping to get some ideas of things to look out for and check??. This is a 94 model so one of the first produced, Ferrari made an update on the 355 in 96 apart from the airbags what were the other modifications and why were they made ?

    Kind regards
    Scott

Didn't the 355 model year begin in 1995?

Search for '355 problem' or '355 valve guides' and you should find the answer for what to look for.

That would be a very rare 355 - The first model year for the 355 was 1995 :)

Do a search - there are tons of information on makes, models, service things you should look for, prices, etc. Just do a search for "355"

Fill out your profile please, so we can give you who to look up to depending on the area, too.

    Just quick ones here:
    1. Check inside trunk for moisture. If heater pump is somehow damaged, you'll feel some dumpness there.
    2. Electric fan is weak point for 355. Check it during the idling.
    3. Check for rock chips in side sills, front bumper, & side air intake area. Unless it was repainted, there should be some chips comparable to mileage & use.
    4. Look under the car. If some part of panel is new or too clean, more likely it was replaced.
    5. Oil leaks on dumpers. You may have to remove the cover for both side to see this, and I don't know the dealer will let you...

Check repair/maint. record, of course, along w/ the history of a car.

Use the caution for just like buying other used cars. If you buy it from F dealer, you maybe able to get Power Warranty, so you can ask them for details.

Good luck & enjoy your search, too.

I think production of 355's actually started in '94, and we all know the Euro cars model years differ from ours. Maybe it's a Euro?

Don't forget to check the base of the C pillars for stress cracks.

considering getting ahold of the FORZA buyers guide article. it's all covered on this site if you can find it, but it's educational regardless.

search for "ross periodicals" and you'll find their contact info for back-orders.

The 355's were 1995 production cars - there were a few built in late 1994 - but still were marketed as 1995 (regardless of build date). All 1995 production F-cars (Last 348 Spiders, 355, F50, and 456's) were OBD1's.
