    HI, and HELP!!
I have been driving my 83MD QV for about three months and have noticed that the engine warm-up light will not go out. The car seems to be running fine otherwise (aside from a leak in the low-pressure AC hose, which I am getting around to repairing). Recently I had her out for a nice 2 hour drive (longest to date) and the light still stayed on: during the segments when I was pushing the car a little bit the engine temp would hover at the 220's mark but would soon drop back to the usual 200's as I slow down to usual cruising speeds.
What common things could I check to resolve this problem(?) ?

220? is that water or oil temp.

If it's water you have issues. if it's oil it seems kinda high.

Average water should be 195 or below and oil should be 210 or below.

As for the light, you might have a faulty sending unit that is keeping the light on. As long as the rev's drop when the water temp is up you should be fine for now but have it looked at.
