    Just thought I would give anyone interested a heads up. Could be headed to Philip Island this week for a run. Also a new GT2 is on display.

    The car is owned by Porsche AG and is the world demo/press car. The car will be at Philip Island for a driver education day. The following day Jim Richards will be driving six journalists around the track in the CGT. Unfortunately, the track will be not open to the public at these times.

    Evern heard of standing outside and looking through the fence? Fantastic view of lukey and the entrance to the main straight. I'd like watching JR driving it, i think!

    I'm not completely familiar with the whole complex, but don't you have to go through the main entrance and the ticket booths to get there? I'm assuming the whole facility will be closed.

    nah...track's only a very short distance from the main rd. you can actually see quite a bit standing there. :)

    I dont mean to offend anyone and it doesn't matter how fast it goes or how much it costs but that is one of the ugliest porches iv'e ever seen.Its like a Boxster/F360/audiTT/lexus clone.Again don't crucify me its just an opinion!

    don't like it in red as pictured here, but the silver and black versions i've seen in pics/vids i thought were truly stunning looking cars.

    I was lucky enough to be thrown the keys to one. :)

    The sound is I N C R E D I B L E
    Have you ever been near an F1 car when it is started ?
    The inital bark actually frightens you. - Same with the Carrera GT.

    The rate at which it can rev and idle back is also very "F1 like"
    Obviously a very light clutch and flywheel.

    Unfortunately the extent of my "test drive" was sitting in it and blipping the throttle. :(
