I'm not hatin' on MS, I think he's the best F1 driver of all time. But it always seems that F1 races work out in his favor. By the end of Lap 1 he's in 6th place and he ends up in 2nd at the end of it all.

    Let’s re-cap.
He’s in 6th place, a 3 car pile-up causes the SC to come out and re-bunches the field.
RB gets the rear-wing knocked off and needs the entire race to get back on the podium.
Trulli comes out after the 1st pit-stop with the car not performing as well as the 1st stint.
Alonso spins-out, as result of oil leaking on the tires, and beaches the car.
Coulthard gets a flat and then rear-ends Klien.
    Finally, Button has a blow-out.

FWIW I think Michael might have caught and passed Kimi had it not been for the last safety car period

There's a lot of people who say you create your own luck and that being true it is clear that MS and the rest of the Ferrari Team are very creative :)

What's that saying? Luck seems to come to those that work the hardest.

Er, were you watching the same race that I was watching. The only reasons MS could even see Kimi's car was the safety car period allowing him to close up.

Kimi was long gone! ... and as MS did not need to win, he was just cruising to the finish.

    Lets discuss the original points:
Are we talking the first lap incident? ... the field did not need rebunching, already bunched ;)

RB was never going to stop MS getting the results he wanted anyway ... even with the wing, he would have only followed MS home ... or the team would have made him do so.
And how does this have anything to do with MS ... first rule of motor racing, to finish first, first you must finish ... Renault have forgotten that rule.
As above ... his car sh@t itself.
Er, we are talking Coulthard here ... this was not his year ;) ... he would never have challenged MS.
Again Button was hardly competitive this weekend.

Have you ever thought that it was clever driving on MS's part to keep out of all these issues. Have you ever noticed how most races are won by the cars with the no accident damage, not even a scratch, etc. ... this is because the experienced drivers keep the car clean and out of harms way. It is more than just being fast, you must be smart too.

Note: also how MS purposely let JPM through which made JPM look good ... but while it was an okay move, MS was being wise and avoiding any battle or contact. Trulli was overloaded with just keeping the car on the road and thus did not use his brain and get out of JPM's way ... result Trulli spins and car probably was damaged.

MS wins races because he is fast and smart ... not luck.

    Pete
