how much faster can the F50 be? it really doesnt have much more power or torque, and how much of a weight difference is there? sure hope that a 1995 supercar can still show this thing its taillights EASILY. your thoughts?

They're both very cool, who cares how much faster one is vs. another? Why is it important to you that the F-50 beat the 430? There is 10 years of R & D between them.

For the F50 owner, the half million dollars must buy SOMETHING other than exclusivity.

Most F50 Will be slower than the 430 because they are harder to drive than the 430. Thats why so many Strad are lapping faster than F40s.

I believe, in the hands of a Pro , an F40 could beat a Strad.
Gotta wait for the first tests of the F430..

aurora, I meant the $500K DIFFERENCE. In boston, at one point they wanted $795K for an F50 (last year) not sure about now, but I hope that it can outperform the entry level ferrari!

Ah but think what those in GTO's are thinking..both the 250 and 288... And those in F40's. Trust me, most who buy an F50 do not care.

You buy an F50 for the sound , an F40 for the brutal experience not for lap times IMO .

    Weight ...
    F50: 1320 kg
    430: 1372 kg
    Not a big difference.

Like everyone said the 430 such be easier to drive and its faster when changing gears (F1 transmission). But someone that is very good with the stick and knows how to drive an F50, should have no problem beating the 430.

Question: Why is Ferrari building bigger cars?
    Height:
    F50: 44.1 in
    430: 47.8 in

Probably because Americans are getting fatter and fatter :) I just drove a 308 the other day and I can tell you that I know a lot of people who have no chance of fitting in that thing :)

I personally do not think a F430 could touch an F50 on a track. I guess time will tell.
