    www.carsfromitaly.com:
Alongside the development of the new sports prototype car (the 33/2) a road version was also designed. First released in September 1967, it featured all the sports car characteristics such as its mid-mounted twin-spark dohc fuel-injected V8 engine with 230bhp whilst being clothed in a spectacular new 2-seat body designed and constructed by Franco Scaglione. The thin aluminum shell covered a lightweight tubular frame and featured fully openable panels commonly found on competition cars. Total production was 18 examples from 1967 to 1971.
