Daytona tool kits for late 1973-74 kits were a jack bag (not 308 style) and a suit case tool kit like in this auction

There are 4 different Daytona tool kits I am familiar with

The Daytona's manual shows a picture and the tools and that looks more like the regular bag with an added pocket for the jack. Not like a suitcase at all.

Exactly like the one you Tom are trying to get from Bill.

Tool kits for the 365 GTB/4 varied over the course of production and there were even differences from Euro to NA cars. From the Spare Parts Catalogue, the style that Andreas is referring to:

Yup, that's the one I was talking about. One like this was today on ebay for sale, but not for long. I guess somebody snatched it up somewhere above the 3k mark.

I think Tom's point is that the suitcase-style tool kit (as in the auction mentioned here) was provided on the later cars and is, therefore, not necessarily incorrect. Believe me, Tom would know!

Well, All I know is that I would really like to have a complete and correct one for my Daytona.... a 1969 model. I have the original tool roll and a few of the tools but its missing about 50% of the stuff.

I passed on the incorrect kit Peter Sweeney sold on ebay, note it had, amoungst many wrong items, the wrong jack and expensive item.

Please note the Ferrari tool kits from 1960's thru mid 70's are usually not representative of what is in the book. DO NOT THINK THE OWNER"S MANUAL IS GOSPEL!!!!

Daytona book also says pliers are 180mm I have 5 71-72 kits here all with 190mm pliers.

    Don't get me started.
    250/275/275GTB/4,330GTC (especially)/330GT2+2/365/daytona
owner's manuals are not always correct maybe 40% of the time
They took the general tool kit supplied at the time of printing of the book (early in production of any car) and printed a picture, right wrong or indifferent, it was printed.

With close to 6 figures annually in tool sales and outfitting 8 cars on the lawn a Pebble Beach this year alone, I speak with some authority.
David Carte in Edinburg VA, is equally qualified.

I have perfect Daytona Spyder jack tool bag with S/N of car with 2 piece set identical 365GTC/4, that was with an original owner.

    Very opened minded tool

That is very interesting and a bit irritating. I mean if you can't trust the manual, whom do you believe? I guess that's part of the Italian charme factor...

    Thanks for the enlightenment.

As with all Ferrari manuals (parts, shop, owners) they are a guide only. They aren't always right or wrong. It only reflects what they thought they were going to do on the day the book was printed, plus mistakes.

That goes for all aspects of these charming cars. Do not assume anything based on what the cars produced before or after had. Even though at this point these were production cars, this was a small line and it was easy to change items and switch parts on a particular car if it helped get it out the door.

Does this include people with experience who happen to be located in South Florida (except for Martin of course)? :)

some late model daytonas came with a suitcase toolkit such as the one pictured here as well as a jack roll.

I have both, as well as the toolkit pictured in the owner's manual.
