Thought I would put the information here for easy viewing. The following posts are from here; http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29243 Here's the plan: Sunday Sept. 12th 2004 1) Meet in Gig Harbor (Chris will provide location and directions) for breakfast/coffee at 9:30. 2) DRIVE!! 3) End up in Silverdale (there might be a place we want to stop along the way for the scenery or to switch passengers). Everyone can then split up and head their seperate ways. This will work good if anyone wants to take a ferry back East/North as Silverdale is pretty central to Kingston, Bremerton or Bainbridge Island. I'm assuming everyone can find there way to the Narrows, if not, please reply. Highway 16 Westbound take the Olympic Drive exit (2nd exit after the bridge). At the light take right and follow approx. a mile to a mile and a half down towards the water (road turns into Soundview Drive). as you head down the hill keep a look out for the Columbia Bank on your left. It will be the first strip mall you will come to. Turn into the parking lot and head through the lot to the opposite side and Judson St. Cafe is just before the post office. Directions from Eastbound 16 is the same although you will take a left instead of a right at the light at the end of the Olympic Drive offramp and follow until road turns into Soundview Drive. Address: 3114 Judson St. Gig Harbor, WA 98335 9:30 it is and we'll see you there! (Spasso) I plan on driving down I-5 from up north, through Tacoma then coming back on the ferry in Edmonds.We can meet at Southcenter........................northwest corner is usually where the club hooks up. I'll be there at 8:00 am. Figure we could leave at 8:20 or so. Easy cruize down to GH and get there at 9:15/9:20, something like that. Breakfast at 9:30. Need time to BS outside ya' know...........................................
From this side I know Chris, Dave, Byron, George and myself are planning on being there! That's at least 7 cars, and should be a nice mix too, three 308's, one 328, two 355's, and a 360. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
The breakfast line up. I was light on the pictures today but there were a bunch taken by far better shooters than I, (hint hint). Kudos to Jdubbya for some great roads. We will have to try them at about 6:00 am sometime for optimum effect, both directions! The weather broke up and the sun came out. Nice boat ride home too! 230 miles total for me. Those of you who didn't make it out missed a pretty nice drive. I don't think the birthday boy Matthew was totally surprised, but I do know he had a totally good time. When was the last time any of you got to ride in three different Ferrari's in one day!! The weather turned out beautiful, a few clouds in places but still nice! Thanks to everyone for helping plan a fun day then showing up and joining in! It was also nice to meet some more new people and put faces to more names!! Here's a few pics. Yes....definitely some good roads, nice job John. Birthday Boy was definitely happy with the day. 130 in the CS I believe was a highlight! We will definitely have to get a larger group sometime to do a breakfast drive and make better use of the route!
You really meant to say 60 or 70 and just combined them right Chris?? Thanks to Chris too for finding and planning the breakfast spot. Good food and nice people. Great start to a great day. And thanks to Steve and Diane for being what have got to be about the coolest parents a kid could have!! Too bad we couldn't get that white Toyota out of the middle of the pack. Of course something faster than an old 308 in the front of the pack would have helped too. I came home and raised my front end about another 1 1/2" so it hopefully won't bottom out any more!! Dave B. mentioned another nice drive; out and around the canal going north. That's more of a whole day drive but might be one to try!! Some good roads out there too.

So right Darth. Incentive to do good in school, stay away from drugs and run with the winners. My nephew was with me this trip as well as others and I think I have him converted from BMW to Ferrari now. Next chance I have on the open road I am going to turn the wheel of the Oldslow308 over to him so he can learn about the unique feel of an old Fcar. Sharing is the best part!
I'm taking my Nephew on the North Cacades trip this weekend. I used the trip as incentive for him to stay out of trouble and do good with some school work he had over the summer break. As for the sharing part I couldn't agree more. I read a philosophy on this site when I first started out. The basic premise was that there were only something like 80K+ Ferrari's made EVER (may be higher now). If you are lucky enough to own one it's an honor and almost a duty to share the passion they inspire with others. I thought it sounded pretty corny when I first heard it but it really is true. Besides it's just plain FUN!!!

Welcome Philip! Congrats on the 308 QV, they are great cars. I owned a '83 like yours for five years and just loved it. You should consider joining the FCA, we have a great bunch of folks here in the Seattle area who are VERY active in putting together events, drives, dinners, car shows, breakfasts and just about everything else! At risk of digressing too far I have to again mention my birthday gift when I was nine years old and had my first airplane flight in 1935. It was the highlight of my life then. Two years later I " got my ride" in a 1928 Waco Ten powered by the infamous OX-9 that did all it could to produce 90 HP at a max RPM of 1250. I was thrilled to be in the front cockpit where I could feel and taste the water, oil, and exhaust flying back from that clattering engine as we we struggled through the air at 80 MPH.......much like flying behind a steam locomotive. All this from washing many an old airplane and hanging out and hoping. I finally got my ride from a generous pilot. Ten years later I became a pilot and much later in 1967 I restored an old WW2 airplane and gave rides to kids ( including my son, DJ, who helped to rebuild that old crate ) and a couple of days ago I was shocked to recieve an unsolicited e-mail from one of the kids who flew with me then. He is a grown man now but he wrote to me and thanked me for giving him " his ride" and starting him on a career in aviation. Weird timing in view of the birthday gift to the young man in Silverdale.
