Pat, a firiend of mine had the streat styler with flourescent green mags. was so cool. I wanted to throw them on my GT, but i never got around to it.. the paper route came up a few pennies short. lol

Zupra, u can also try working the rear wheel part: stand up on the bike. bend your knees slightly and keep your body over your seat. just try using your feet and legs to pull up the back wheel while you keep the front tire on the ground. this will at least help with building the strength you need in your legs and stomach.

this one's a little harder to do. if its confusing, just work on what you already can do.

It has perhaps something to do with the mountain bike, but more likely that the bike doesn't fit you to begin with.

Buy an S&M. Don't buy Taiwan junk and don't ever buy a Macneil.

    Padawan,

Just go out & practice as much as you can, join the ABA, NBL, find a local BMX track in your area & get after it. I raced for years & it was a blast. There is no secret that you will fall & get hurt. I’ve dislocated my shoulder twice, broken many bones, & lost layers upon layers of skin. Just ask Alen what happened to me at last years ART CAR PARADE.

    Btw,

When i was a kid, i had a BMX; i wasn't big on tricks, though... wheelies & bunny hops were the only occasional abberations from actual riding... Equipped with foot brakes, a hand brake, a speedometer and a penchant for disturbing speeds on public, traffic-soaked roads, it's a wonder i'm still here, today... The irony of it all is that when i DID get hit by a car, i was riding someone else's bike... :)

Zupra, be careful out there; make sure you get the proper equipment before you ride... A good bike can last you a long time, but concussions last a lot longer...

Im more into skateboarding and such, but on occasion I will ride my bike around and goof off. I dont know too many tricks, but flatground barspins, bunny hops, california hops, 180s, manuals, etc.
Bunny hops just come with time, the more you ride, the better you will get. There arent really any shortcuts to learning tricks, but if you enjoy it you will stick to it.
My advice is imagine that your bike is just another apendage, like an arm. Pretend that the pedals are strapped to your feet. And, when in doubt, jump like you never jumped before. I guess it would help to have a BMX bike as mountain bikes are generally more akward to learn with. I did learn bunny hops on a mb first, though.

Just tripped over this thread. Last year I bought a Blue and Black. Haro Group 1 BMX. Circa 1992, to furfil a promise to myself I made when I was about 11yrs old, just been built using as new parts. It was as new. Cost me UK£250.00 from e-bay. Sold it about 2 mnths later, as I was getting fed up tripping over the damn thing in my study.

Beartrap pedals really hurt when you catch a bare leg on them! :D
