I want to convert my new hard drive from FAT32 to NTFS. Problem is that I didn't realize it was a FAT32 format until I started putting stuff on the disk. I now want to format it in NTFS but don't want to reformat the entire drive and erase my files.

Will the following command erase everything or just reformat and save my files.

    "convert L: /fs:ntfs"

Mr. Shatten where are you ??

    Regards,

    Jon

The conversion will not wipe any files.

Just make sure you use CONVERT in the syntax instead of FORMAT.

As always, back up before doing anything major.

Thanks !!! I was pretty sure it just converted existing files but I wanted to make sure.
