That is awesome!!! I go to a lot of car shows and are always amazed by the do not touch signs. Chances are few and far between that your car will be damaged from someone checking it out and the only people you should be worried about touching it ie. little kids can't read the sign. Let a kid sit in your ferrari then spend 5 min cleaning the interior when you get home it could make the kids day, month, year.

Ferrari importer here in France disagree with you..Every 2 years at the Paris show , their exposed cars are damaged during the event. Granted , there are a lot more people coming ..buti dont think owners would like to have their cavallino missing from the rear grill or the nice black ball from the gear lever..

oh andrew my bad I am talking more like a show like the Reading or Radnor Concours not like the Philly or NY autoshows and letting people sit in an Enzo or Rolls.

I think there are some reasons to let people sit in the cars etc and some to not let them.

Ex: I went to tallacrest this summer in the UK and asked to sit in the GT1. He said no because they get little kids coming in all the time asking that. Granted, i'm not a potential buyer (yet! ;) ) but i've sat in McLaren F1's, F50's etc and although he doesn't know that i was dressed smartly and he knew we were from the US (i think, can't remember. I may not have told him).

In the end, its all down to the person in charge of the car

Man, I look positively illiterate with that handwriting :)

Thanks for the kudos, but that wasn't the reason for doing that. I just wanted spectators to get a chance to participate in the show. There were kids and people in and out of it all day, and so many said "I never thought I would ever sit in a Ferrari!"

Sometimes we get a little blase' about these cars, and forget they're special, you know?

Good for you, Tillman! I also like for people to enjoy my car, although I prefer to be present when they do (just in case). I love it when people share their f-cars. - Tim

thats realy cool, i asked to sit in a F40 today but the man said he didn't own the car, so that was fair enough. It was on a display stand for some polish so they were probably renting the car

The greatest joy you can get from your Ferrari is to give someone the opportunity to see, feel and breath your car.

Offering to have pictures taken IN your car just gets kids all excited. The look on their little faces makes my day, not even mentioning their day!

It's always good to share, but be sure that all interested viewers remove pens or pencils from their pockets.. Last thing you want is a punchured seat after doing something nice for someone.

Its funny... whenever I noticed a kid that seemed even halfway interested in the car, especially ones taking pictures, I offered to let them sit in the car for a picture... they often looked at me in disbelief/horror... and often turned down the offer. Go figure. (I don't think I had anything growing out the side of my head, but I could be mistaken... I didn't seem to be scaring off the adults.)
