I heard on the radio that Pizzonia crashed at the Parabolica, at about 345kph. He had brake problems. At 345kph. AT 345 KPH! eeep! I hope he's alright! Front brake disc failure caused it. Hopefully the engine would not need to be replaced (the car backed into the wall following the failure just as he was getting the Parabolica) I was surprised to see Button so high up considering that the BAR had a top speed about 10 kph down on the Ferraris. Must have made up for it in the corners...
I hope the Renault's will be challenging MS the entire race sunday. Also I would like to see Button and Montoya showing what they can do. As for Kimi I'm sure he will fight for the win.
This doesn't seem like a good course for the Renaults. Big horsepower course. I'd like to see them up there also, but I'd be surprised... Gary
Pizzonia walked away from the accident. The car didn't look too badly damaged either. So he probably lost alot of speed before hitting the wall. Btw, you don't travel through Parabolica at 345kmph... that's what you reach on the straight leading up to it. You have to brake to around 160kmph and downshift to 3rd on entry, hug the inside of the turn then let the car accelerate to the outside. Coming onto the main straight, you should be doing around 265kmph.
MS said he made a mistake and RB stated he had a nearly perfect lap, so in essence they're both probably on equal speed in the race. I just hope JPM is going to give Ferrari a good run for its money and get some suspense into this race. There is a good chance it might even be a real race within the Ferrari team given the title is done for.
RB set the fastest ever lap anywhere and anytime and is on pole. Good for him. I'd like to see him finish first.
Did anyone else notice the look on Michael's face when Peter Windsor paid homage to the record fast lap? He had that sort of "Hmmmm, must make that record MINE too!" look.
I lost my voice... I screamed too hard. Oh my gawd Ferrari is the bestest bestest bestest bestest team ever and MS is the bestest bestest bestest bestest driver and Rubino ain't that bad either.
