Strongly Disagree. The shields are a part of Ferrari and in my opinion makes them better.

I'm not sure that I'd go ahead and order them if I was in a position to. If the car I was purchasing in a secondary market had them or I was offered a car with them I wouldn't object.

For what it's worth, the car I purchased most recently does not have them.

Some of the other F-cars I own do have them.

Why doesn't the last purchase have them; because friends (non-Ferraristi), said not to put them on, they like the looks better without them.

    Go figure!

Ya, I posted this because I saw that lots of people loved the shields and I didn't really get why. I personnally like the cleaner look. I would actually not purchase a car because it has the shields.

Any thoughts on the look of the challenge grill?

Sometimes I like them. Sometimes I don't. That's why I have the magnetic ones. I hadn't had them on in awhile but this Sunday, the way our boys drove at Monza, I just had to wash the Mondial and put the shields on. I was that proud to own a Ferrari.

Rofl. And the boxy front grill ruins all BMWs.

It's things like that which make the car.

I could see a "Sports car Enthusiast" buying a Ferrari without the shields. I couldnt see a "FERRARI Enthusiast" buying a Ferrari without the shields. There is so much history behind the Scuderia that any Ferrari without the shields is incomplete IMO.

On a different note, there are some cars (non Ferrari) that I think look really good when its all clean and simple. So I can see where you are coming from.....I guess....

Don't get me wrong, ferraris are the best cars on earth, but there must be other people that don't like the shields?

    Maybe I'm the only one?

Why do ferrari make them if there not ment for putting on ferraris?? Sheilds i mean.
Has anyone seen the pics of the new 550 LM road racer replica? Are they not stick on sheilds to save weight?

Shields, if Factory installed, are a proper reference the the company's racing heritage.

If an option, as they are today, that's cool too.

But any car NOT actually raced or any car NOT offered with shields, starts to look a little bit cheesy.

But you know, if you bought the darn thing you can paint it purple and run neon around the bottom, to match!!
