    Hello "F"-Chatters,

I was wondering if anyone might have a photo/pic of their 1979 308GTB Battery Box and hold down unit? Mine's missing, and I'd like to see about securing the correct one for my car.

    Thanks for the help!

    Chris.

The problem is that the "box" (if you can call it that) is a welded part of the chassis itself so it doesn't appear as an available spare part, and I can't recall ever seeing it in an F illustration. IIRC, it's just a flat pan with big cutout areas in the bottom (to drain any spillage/water) and with the 4 edges bent up about 19~25mm. The rearmost bent-up edge has the "fixed" toe-clamp shape built-in to itself for grabbing the bottom edge feature of the battery, and there's a stud at the front for the adjustable toe-clamp part (item 44) shown in the drawing that Malcolm posted.

Have you searched the old site? I'm having a flashback that someone did some restoration work to their's and posted some pictures (but I don't recall any keywords that might help easily identify it so I leave that homework for you ;)).

    By the way,

What your firstname? And how's your car coming along?

    Thanks, Chris.
