I want to see if I can get an idea of different modifications that have been done to 308's. Post your mods here.

I have done a few things but nothing spectacular:
    Shortend the shifter by 2"
    Compressed the bumbers
    Re"dyed" the interior leather
applied leather to the rear deck
Added Subwoofer to footwell and tweeters to dash

In all seriosness, that is a FINE job. I am not a big fan of music in 308's so the speaker isn't "my cup of tea", but to each their own (or they would all look the same). I particuarly like the shortened shifter. Did you just cut and rethread it? As they are tapered, I have shyed away from doing that, even though I prefer a short stalk. I have heard that GT4's had shorter shifters, but havent gotten them side by side.
Other than that, as I specialize in engine modification, I can't give you much input, except go for it!

How did you shorten the shifter? Did you put in a GT4 assembly? I know you can't just cut and rethread since they're rolled threads (larger than the base diameter of the shift rod).

    Susan,

What did you use to redye the leather? It looks really good.

You Dummy! You installed your positron field reverser the wrong way, this is why your Starbro Stasis field doesn´t build up properly and you won´t be able to enter the subspace freeway :)

I shortened the shifter when I did the redye on the leather. I just cut it off and rethreaded it. The taper required me to put a thread over the newly threaded portion. Easy stuff and looks (I think) better. The redye was done with Leathereeek. I think I would use something else that is solvent based if I did it again.

Would you explain what you mean by "put a thread over the newly threaded portion"?

By the way, the shorter shift mechanism out of a 308GT4 is a drop-in replacement for those who don't want to cut their stock shifter. I've got an extra one here (though it needs rechroming) if anyone is interested.
