This guy didn't seem to be too impressed by the Eagle's Race P4's either: http://www.iol.ie/~donohoer/0Ferrari_330_P4.htm
Ok ok I'm sorry for posting this horrible model , Although I never said it was the best... if you know of any other which is better just post it.
That's pretty funny that he collects the cars but doesn't know much about them. I wouldn't say it is as bad as he makes it out to be. The Joeuf P4's sell for upwards of $50US on ebay and I've seen some go for close to $100. considering that they are the only 1/18 P4's available I think you did good.
Sorry - I didn't mean it that way. I just happened to come across that site yesterday, and thought it was a relevant link to post - no 'put-down' was meant. After all, being a P4 enthusiast, I've collected all of them myself - and worse ! When the Revell / Jouef P4's came out in the mid-80's they were 'state of the art' 1:18 die-casts. I don't neccessarily agree with him either - except on the one point that he makes (and that most other 1:18 collectors seem to agree on), that if the models had been re-done by Exoto or Kyosho (instead of just being re-hashed with different decals; wheels and wing-mirrors by Eagle's Race), they could have been SO much better.
There are lots of these available from several sources but most are the expensive handbuilts. I have a one off from BBR which is a 412 strech limo in black with maroon interior. It's nearly six inches long in 1/43. I bought it in a swapmeet in Germany in 85.
WOW. I just got totally cleaned out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=45349&item=6926439993&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=45349&item=6926440194&rd=1
Is that sarcastic or did i? I am so annoyed i lost this by $2.50 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19066&item=6926814265&rd=1
$177.50 for that Jouef is great! I'm selling one out of my personal collection for $125.- guess my price just went up!!
OK now you will get me going with the 1/18 scale models... In fact I'm racing 1/18 RC Ferrari F1 cars and not only... I'll start another thread soon and I will post more pictures
I know i shouldnt put this one over here...but I wanted to share this with you Is the F2002 Tamiya 1/10 RC
I have just bought a Miniatures du Château / Heco Modèles 1/43 replica of this car . I expected myself to find the headlight covers transparent with the headlights visible underneath but they are completely flat black . I have searched my Ferrari books but found no photoof this very car showing black headlight covers , could somebody provide me some information ?
