Well guys where's the best place to look for his " Sold out" paintings ? I am loking for "Home town morning " in particular. Thanks, Yasir
Send me this email request to my attention at [email protected] and I will pass it to a buddy of mine who is Kinkade's color-graphics printing guru at their N.CA manufacturing facility. Peter
Doc, we need to talk. You have been staring at too many, uh, pee pees. Back in the day, ol Tom really did capture the heart of the hill country in Texas...
I have always liked the " Home town morning" painting and regardless of who ever painted it i want one.Anyway i personaly think his paintings are very nice but if you know of any other artist who has similar paintings and under $4000 please let me know.Any other suggestions ? Yasir
Yasir, Unless you're looking for a Print by T.K., Original's are out of reach for mere Mortals. The Prints, are very nice though!
Yes. The art school that I went to freshman year made a point of showing his work as "what not to do" lol
I thought he was more like the White Castle of fine art. Those prints are only useful for their thermal energy.
Oh well, you have to give TK credit though - he set up a great brand and marketing empire based on moss-covered cottages with brick lanes at sunset. Like Anne Geddes' photography, he has hit a niche and exploited it well!
There are people that feel the same for Ferrai brand too, right ? Anyway like i said before we,me and my wife, really like his color scheme and would have bought them regardless of who painted them.Remember i am not buying them as a collector item and surely i won't offend friends either if i have them on my my walls or would i ? Any way correct me if i am wrong, didn't Bill Gates paid him around $1 million dollars for 2 paintings for his house ? His Master prints go any where from $100,000 to $400,000 so i guess there are people ( idiots ?) out there that still like his work or else he will be selling his paintings at our local walmart store ! So where else can i buy nice paintings with the same color scheme,of a well known artist ofcourse, without breaking my bank account ? Yasir
Oh I am not knocking that at all!! I can absoultly respect a good fortune made by hard work. I just find his prints... which are prints with a little it of paint on the mto make them not look like prints.... well..... almost too soft warm and fuzzy if that is the word. And damn, there are a TON of them!!!! But if that is what you like, far be it for me to knock what you like. But I will take my 348 any day. It atleast can get me to McD's for some fries!!! (Still.....in Korea!!!!)
Dr. S., You're in Korea? Next time you go to the Commissary, Check out/buy some of my Apples I supply all of their Washington Apples & Pears. ( Have for years, yearly Contract). When do you get to see those Hills of Carolina again? Thanks for Serving! Chuck
Well i just found out what a crap TK is but let me ask you guys something, what kind of paintings do you all have in your houses ? I need about 5 paintings but unfortuntely i am not rich enough to spend $20,000 per painting,so what are my options ? The funny thing is you all seem to agree on one thing,TK is a biggest crap ever, yet you are not telling me what else is out there ! Any suggestions ?
I think that would tick people off more than having a Kincaid painting!! It hurts just to look at here... imagine a wall...
yasir, Art is in the eye of the beholder. Some people's weeds are other people's flowers. That said, I do agree that TK art is very overdone and not my taste. I think you could find many artists that are much less then $20k for prints (which I'm sure is what you are talking about - not originals). Over the years I have found some nice prints and sculptures, but it takes time to find pieces that you will enjoy. I like to walk around the house and view the art more today then when I first purchased them. I suggest you spend some time in various styles of galleries and try artbrokerage.com. She has good pictures to view and fair pricing IMO. I have only purchased one print from her years ago, but I'd recommend her. If you post some picts of what you like then maybe I and others could offer better suggestions. Just spitting out names of good artists or artist I like wouldn't be that helpful to you.
Yasir, If you have a Home Depot Expo Design store in your vicinity, they have a decent selection of abstract and representational paintings to chose from. Your questions suggest you are looking for something that "goes with the sofa," as opposed to work that reflects your tastes in "fine art." Kincaide's paintings are the 1990s equivalent of "sad-eyed kittens and ball o' yarn" paintings of the '60s. By adding a bible quote reference, he's turned schlock into "inspirational." But hey, there are all kinds of "tastes" out there. Some educated, most uneducated. KevFla (whom has a B.A. in Fine Art)
