Which one of them do you prefer? Differences?
But what are the limitations? -- no work commuting, mileage maximum? If a tree falls on it at a local car show you'd be safe, but I'd be worried about really collecting on a road accident claim -- am I wrong?
i dont drive my " fun " cars to work.... too many rednecks with sharp objects. i drive my DAILY DRIVER truck less than 10,000 miles a year, my fun cars only get a few thousand miles or so. i have a 2 car garage with an alarm system ( fire too). the garage was the only requirement they gave me. you should contact them for specifics.
I questioned Hagerty about mileage limitations and they told me that although 3,000 miles a year was the industry standard they were more concerned about how the car was being used. They said the car could not be used for daily transportation and it needed to be parked in a garage nightly. I asked them to specifically spell it out because the restrictions didn't show on the policy copy I had. This is what they sent me. Please note the last sentence of the first paragraph. It works for me. USAGE and MILEAGE GUIDELINES Vehicles insured in our program must be used on a limited basis, which is consistent with the operation of something that has collectible value. Usage for club functions, exhibitions, organized meets, tours, and limited pleasure driving is acceptable. Hagerty does not have a strict mileage limitation for collector vehicles; rather, we are more concerned with how the vehicle is being used. Guidelines for Determining Acceptable Amount of Limited Use: The industry standard for limited is 3,000 miles per year. Exotics mileage should not exceed 2,500 per year. Street Rods may be driven up to 5,000 miles per year for shows and club events. Guidelines for Unacceptable Types of Usage: Daily driving or back-up transportation on a regular basis.* Commercial usage. Hauling, towing, or other utility use. Off-road driving, 4-wheeling, or two-tracking. Racing or participating in timed speed events on a regular basis. Cross-country and extended vacations that do not involve a collector auto event as part of the destination. (Short weekend trips or distances under 500 miles away are generally okay as long as secure storage is available at night) *NOTE: Driving to work on a regular basisthat is, once a week in the summer is unacceptable.
