    Had this meaningfull conversation on his 348TS that had a reserve met at $40,000. Deal never went through. Now he tells me the car is worth $ 70,000

    Holy cow, what year is it? Even a '94 (which would have to be a Factory Challeng car, I believe) would not be worth that much.

    Martin - you say the auction reserve was met? Isnt he contractually bound to sell you the 348 for the final bid?

    He's listed it a couple times. I wrote and asked why it was back after it had apparently sold the first time. He said the buyer couldn't come up with the money. This guy is something else!

    Martin, for the brief time the post was up, the asking price was $44,999 so you are getting there.....

    I love these - remember in the 70's you could buy enough fuel saving gadgets from JC Whitney that added up to over 100%? A car that would actually make gas!

    Martin - You're going to have to chill out.... I say that as a freind and not withstanding the fact you are in the biz...

    Trader on Line: All 348's for sale. Total 36 cars / 32 cars with price.
    Lowest price = 90 348 for $40,500 seller in Miami.
    Highest price = 80K (2)
    Average of all 348 = $63K

    Dupont: All 348's for sale. Total 28 cars / 24 cars with price.
    Lowest price = $48K (1)
    Highest price = $80K (4)
    Average of all 348 = $68K

    If I had a 348 and someone emailed me saying its worth $30K, I think I would have reacted in a similar fashion. Retail is not wholesale.

    BTW - you going to Sebring next weekend? Need to talk.

    Frank,
    you are totally missing the point.

    First: The average prices you are adding together are TBs from 1989 to Spiders from 1995. Obviously a 95 Spider is worth more than a tracked 348TB from 1889.

    Second: Du Pont for example is absolutely no stick to base prices on. If I'd try to get DuPont prices for my cars I would not have sold one yet! By that standard you 355Spider should be worth $135,000.

    Third: I did not say $30K but between low $40s and $30Ks., this is mid $30s or high $30s.

    Remember this car has been tracked. you would have to see how the car was put back together. I also believe this one was heavily crashed from what I know. It is probably the car that came from Utah and this one has been totalled once on the track.
