    When the 348 was king, a small twin turbo car brandishing three red diamonds boasted the ability to out accel a ZR-1 and out corner a Lotus Esprit. 348 had a competitor from the Orient. The car had a following of enthusiasts including myself. A club was formed back in the day. Now, enthusiasm runs lukewarm as more of the twin turbine cars find themselves wrapped around trees, poles, etc. What few are left, a car that once sold for $55k is now in the hands of high school kids where no appreciation of anything let alone a car run rampant. The lifelong ambition to drive several prancing ponies from Italy has become reality. The careful selection of one will come forth. Though the interest for the diamond car is not lost, it has become a daily driver as the quest for a real sports car continues.

    I look for a detail in photos that will reduce to 80x80 but still be recognizable. Most photos are mine, a couple are courtesy Jordan Witherspoon, and mostly from Crystal Cove meetings.
